Chicago PD Smollett Files Released

i'm thinking somebody somewhere is being blackmailed for something. you don't get slapped with 16 fed charges... then pay a 10K 'fine' & do 2 days of community service & voila! it all goes away?

i'm not buying any of it.
It’s called knowing somebody.
it's called privilege.

possibly. if he were white. no doubt, that would be my first thought. but he was nailed dead to rights... but then aggain, OJ got off. it just stinks no matter what.
it's still privilege. it's who he knew. and that my friend is called privilege. I want that kind of privilege that i can commit crimes and walk away like it didn't happen. yes sirreeee bob. who's bob? i don't know.

it's all the obama's fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an astonishing example of Dem bungling. What was intended as an "in your face" show of power is actually clear and positive PROOF of Dem corruption. The DNC is dead.

He's a piece of shit alright. He essentially swore on his mother too.

Chicago is corrupt as fuck. Foxx is the complete opposite of whom should serve as attorney general, but when you're taling progressives, they vote based on a person's color and gender, and they seem to enjoy contrary thought. Foxx is a member of Chicago's marxist socialists that includes the Obama's, and she's financed by Soros.

I recognize a lot of progs have difficulty distinguishing between reality and propaganda, but this is on the side of reality. A nice summary begins at 11:45. Not sure he's right about the Obama's pulling the trigger on this, but it's not a stretch.

And I live here. dude, it's tough. so, so tough. The people of this town are so stupid they just voted for mayor the person that levied a 1c per ounce tax on soda/pop. Yep, only in fking chicago can one introduce a tax on the people, have it repealed by a judge and then get voted in as a mayoral candidate in a run off. Prickwinkle anyone?

Just heard the Chicago Police have now been barred from releasing anymore info, by the DA’s office.

With any luck there will be a backlash and Chicago will wise up to progs.
oh fk no. these idiots just elected as governor a man that wants to put a tax on the miles we drive. dude, change our flat tax to a progressive state tax, the stupid that is in this state is extraordinary. BTW, the state leads the nation with the number of people fleeing the state. progs are the most evil of societies evilest.

"Cook County clerk’s office tells @ABC they were shocked that no written motions were filed with the court in connection with today’s surprising dismissal in the Smollett case. On top of that, the case has been wiped off their database as if it never existed."

My guess is they lost the brothers' testimony. It is a bit odd because the lead prosecutor reportedly said afterwards in an interview that Smollett was not innocent.
The brother's testimony is contained in the released files.

Not necessarily. But her chief of staff-

Here’s the bottom line: Kim Foxx, the Cook County State’s Attorney, tried to convince Chicago police to turn the Jussie Smollett case over to the FBI, Chicago newspapers reported. Her action came after a conversation with Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff and with a Smollett relative who has not been named. You can read those texts here.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the effort by Foxx came after a former Michelle Obama chief of staff reached out to Foxx. The newspaper reported that the chief of staff and lawyer was a supporter of Smollett. She was described as Tina Tchen, “a Chicago attorney and former chief of staff for former First Lady Michelle Obama,” by the Sun-Times.

Joe Magats, made the decision, according to a journalist for the New York Times, who quoted Magats as saying, “We stand behind the investigation, we stand behind the decision to charge him and we stand behind the charges in the case. The mere fact that it was disposed of in an alternative manner does not mean that there were any problems or infirmities in the case or the evidence.” New York Times reporter Julie Bosman quoted Joseph Magats as saying, “We didn’t exonerate him.”

...
On her LinkedIn page, Tina Tchen describes herself as a “Litigation lawyer, former Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama, and activist for women’s issues.” Since 2017, she has been a partner at Buckley Sandler, LLP.

Before that, she spent eight years at the White House. Her LinkedIn page lists the following positions there:
...

However, the explanation was complex. Usually, in Cook County, deferred prosecution agreements involve a period of time in which the defendant must meet certain conditions while being monitored. In this case, the charges were dismissed on the front end, but there doesn’t seem to be a typical deferred prosecution agreement in place (and Smollett’s lawyer said there wasn’t one).
...
Foxx is alo accused of texting the unnamed Smollett relative and writing, “Spoke to the superintendent earlier, he made the ask. Trying to figure out logistics. I’ll keep you posted.” When the relative wrote back, “Omg this would be a huge victory,” Foxx responded, “I make no guarantees, but I’m trying,” the Tribune reported.
