One might imagine that things would not be worse if the Chinese ran everything. If they had no opposition, they would not be so repressive. • China is on the way up, the US is on the way down. Decades of policies that make no sense from a purely economic standpoint have killed the US and it will be very hard to fix. I’m not even talking about the whole trade war thingy here but internal policies. In the US jobs like bus drivers, public sanitation, etc… get paid far above minimum wage and this is suicidal, low qualifications and low skills professions should not be paid such high salaries. In China people get paid what they deserve, STEM professions are on par with the US but bus or taxi drivers are on par with Mexico, the way it should be, you get paid according to the value you add to the economy.
• Major Chinese cities are more developed and more modern than major US cities. Shenzhen my city is a smart city of the future, there is super fast public wifi everywhere, we can pay for everything using our phone or subway card, the subway system goes to every corners of the city and makes any in the US look miserable, we have bullet trains going to every other major city in China at >300km/h, etc… Also more agreeable, Shenzhen has many manicured parks, the streets are lined with trees, the city is surprisingly green, most communities have their own garden. There are more shopping and entertainment options than in the US. Everything is just newer and more modern, it’s that simple, really.
