Hong Kong (CNN)Chinese state media has taken aim at Rex Tillerson, President-elect Donald Trump's pick for secretary of state, after he suggested a more aggressive strategy toward Beijing in the contested waters of the South China Sea. In his confirmation hearing Wednesday, Tillerson, the former CEO of oil giant ExxonMobil, said that China should be denied access to the islands it has built. The Global Times, a provocative but state-sanctioned tabloid, said that "unless Washington plans to wage a large-scale war in the South China Sea, any other approaches to prevent Chinese access to the islands will be foolish." "Tillerson had better bone up on nuclear power strategies if he wants to force a big nuclear power to withdraw from its own territories," the unbylined opinion piece said on the paper's English-language site........

Not a news source I usually trust to say anything but will let this one slide by for the maybe truth in it.

China doesn't usually go flinging words around like N. Korea

And then there is this one

Trump Knows the Invasion is Coming and Is Quietly Preparing

The Chicoms have a small scale nuclear force and has done little testing of the accuracy of their ICBMs, so who knows if they can actually reliably hit anything in the US.

These missiles are quite within the capabilities of our anti-missile defenses.

Base fact; the Chinese will not launch a nuclear war and destroy everything that they know and love over artificial islands in the South China Sea.

The Dongfeng 5A is a single-warhead, three-stage, liquid-fueled missile with a range of 13,000+ km. In 2000, General Eugene Habiger of the U.S. Air Force, then-commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, testified before Congress that China has 18 silo-based DF-5s.[55]
Since the early 21st century, the Second Artillery Corps have also deployed up to 10 Solid-fueled mobile DF-31 ICBMs, with a range of 7,200+ km and possibly up to 3 MIRVs.[56]
China has also developed the DF-31A, an intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of 11,200+ km with possibly 3-6 multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle (MIRV) capability.
The PRC has developed an improved variant of the DF-31 called the DF-31A. This upgraded missile has a reported range of 11,200 km,[3] and was designed with MIRV capability to hold 3 to 5 warheads, each capable of a 20–150 kt yield, but is thought to be armed with only one warhead with penetration and decoy aids to complicate missile defense efforts.[1][1][4] The missile was shown to the public during the parade in Beijing celebrating 70 years since the end of World War II on September 3, 2015.[9] It can carry maneuverable reentry vehicles.[10]

Yep. But they knew they can expand their military with Obama and hoped Hillary would get elected.

Without us doing business with them and stealing our property China would go broke quick

Yeah that would make sense to me , besides they are buying up half the US I don't see them wanting to destroy our land. LOL or so they think they will buy it up. With Trump in i'm not so sure that's going to happen.

Our government and whoever is worried about that is simply paranoid of a small military Chinese installation on a small island. They do not pose a threat to anyone and wouldn't attack international shipping. It is ridiculous.

You might want to check with Taiwan and Vietnam on that little matter, dear.

Translation = you'll pick and choose whether sources are valid depending on whether their articles agree with your world view.

That's not a "base fact", clown. That's a "base opinion". Or maybe if you like and "alt-opinion". But unless you're some kind of God you cannot waltz around declaring what the future is as "base fact". And that actually IS a fact.

Hey now there's an idea. Why don't we send troops to and establish bases in this "Vietnam" place. Anyone know where it is?

All the leftists just crapped their pants and ran for the closet.

I don't take the national socialist right wing seriously; simply Because, they are not brave enough to implement, national socialist wartime tax rates.

In consideration of the monstrous sacrifice in property and blood that each war demands of the people, personal enrichment through a war must be designated as a crime against the people. Therefore, we demand the total confiscation of all war profits.
