Christian bakers who refused to make cake for homosexual "wedding" break gag order

You cannot discriminate against people because they are gay. That is stone age thinking.
If these wretched cake people dont want to serve the public they should get into another business.
So since we're talking about behaviors and not a race of people, you'd be fine with a Christian being able to legally force a gay billboard printer to print a huge highway sign that said "Homosexuality is an abomination before God"? Right? Or aren't you for equal rights applied in law?

Religion is a behavior. Speech is a behavior. Assembly is a behavior. Redressing of Grievances is a Behavior.

If behaviors aren't protected, your argument is already fucked.

A white guy wanting to be married to a black woman is also a behavior.

If not for pseudo-legal fallacies, Sil's posts would be little more than punctuation.

There are plenty of ways to make forcing Christians to violate their beliefs painful and do it legally. The Christians just have to get creative.

If the law allowed such shite then they would have to do it. Civilised societies have laws preventing hate speech, most of which seems to be coming from religious extremists.

Define "hate speech"? Adults can say whatever they like. It's called the 1st Amendment. Hurting someone's feelings isn't against the law. Christians feel like gays defiling their religion is "hate speech". Remember, equal application of the law...

Perhaps they could just embrace christianity ?

They do. It's called Romans 1 and Jude 1 of the New Testament. There they are forbidden to assist the spread of homosexuality within any human society. They are to reach out and help individual homosexuals to overcome their sin; but to never in any way promote their sin as a new cultural value. The hub of any culture is the nuclear family. So, therefore, using plain and simple logic, gay marriage is not allowed for a Christian to participate in, in any way, shape or form.

They MUST resist or they will be cast into hell. That's what the Bible says. So they are already embracing Christianity. God will forgive hurting people's feelings. God will not forgive helping the spread of a homosexual cult into the heart of a Christian society...

Gays arent defiling their religion, they would just like to be treated the same as everybody else .

This is the religious right spouting hate and wanting to be seen as the victims because adults are saying you cant get away with that shit.

Stop trying to drag society back to the stone age.

You mean, statistically, being raised by both a mom and dad and thinking that's important (80-90% of Americans across the spectrum)? Poll. Please Vote. Did You Have a Mother & Father in Your Life?

Don't you suppose children want to be treated the same as other children?

Prohibiting gays from marrying doesn't stop them from raising children. Your solution doesn't solve a damn thing other than satisfying your need to harm gays and their families. Good thing you're irrelevant.

Prohibiting polygamists and incest couples from marrying doesn't stop them from raising children either. You have no logical point, idiot.

No shit, which is why your solution doesn't make any sense. You have to legally prohibit gay people from raising children and remove those that are presently being raised by gays. That is your real end game here but you're too chicken shit to just come out and say it, Mentally Sil.

Religion is a behavior. Speech is a behavior. Assembly is a behavior. Redressing of Grievances is a Behavior.

All of which are explicitly affirmed in the First Amendment as essential rights.

Nowhere in the Constitution is there mention of any “right” to be a sick, immoral pervert, and even less, to force decent people to participate in or support a celebration of your perversion. In fact, that latter winds up being a rather blatant violation of the rights that are affirmed and protected under the First Amendment.

Any two adults, and three or more we should at least discuss. Respect for tradition, eh?

If two opposite sexed parents are good, why wouldn't more be even better? Heather has a Daddy, and Four Mommies...

Civilised societies have laws preventing hate speech…

Civilized societies recognize freedom of speech as an essential human right, and don't resort to claims of “hate speech” as an excuse to suppress expressions of beliefs or opinions that they find disagreeable.
Civilised societies do not term people as perverts because they do not agree with their choice of partner. freedom of speech is not a tool to promote ignorant bile.

Free Speech, as free as we can stand it.

So we've firmly established the behaviors are not beyond constitutional protection. Excellent.

Now, are you aware of what the Constitution actually is? If no, I'll help: its an exhaustive list of powers of government. You're fallaciously citing the constitution as a exhaustive list of *rights* of people. Which the 9th amendment makes ludicrously clear it isn't.

We have far more rights than are listed in the constitution. And among them is the right to marry. A right not limited to particular genders. Nor conditioned on children or the ability to have them.

Your subjective opinion of 'perversion' is gloriously irrelevant to the rights that other people possess.

Neither Romans 1 nor Jude 1 make the slightest mention of same sex marriage or wedding cakes.

If you genuinely believe that you'll be cast into hell if you bake a cake.....then perhaps cake baking isn't the right profession for you.
