I'm sure we have all heard that divorce rates within the church is about the same outside the church, however, this new study delves further into this data.

Bradley Wright's Blog: Divorce rates among Christians by church attendance

Here are the divorce rates in comparison to church attendance.

49% never go to church
46% go about once a year
42% go about twice a year
42% go about once a month
41% go about one to three times a month
31% go nearly every week
27% go every week.

As we can see, the percentage drops dramatically with weekly attendance, but is about the same otherwise.

My divorce precipitated a series of events culminating in my inability to receive the Sacraments unless I jumped through some insurmountable hoops, pulling loved ones with me. I said "no, thanks".

Catholics don't "go to church", but they do witness the Sacrifice of the Mass. Which I am still able to do, short of receiving the Sacraments.

Regarding Church attendance and divorce... Liturgical Guilt is a powerful tool that can keep you in a marriage in which you should not stay. It will either prolong agony, perpetuate that same guilt, or kill you. I was destined for all three. The process of freeing myself from a marriage bound by religion nearly led to my death.

Yet here I am, making your sorry asses miserable. :D
