1. Wanting higher and higher taxes to fund a tyrannical government. What could possibly go wrong?

2. Not allowing freedom of religion. All religious views are to be quashed except for the officially sanctioned government religion which, in Democrats case, is no religion. All other religions will not be allowed to practice any beliefs which conflict with the government's official doctrine. All else will be labeled hate and misinformation. What could possibly go wrong?

3. The government will be allowed to exert complete control over people's lives whenever they determine there is a national emergency. Martial law will be declared until they deem the national emergency to be over. These emergency powers will include forcing people to be vaccinated, not allowed out of their homes or to work unless they show their papers, and also includes being fired from their jobs and not allowed to collect any government benefits to sustain their right to life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness. Of course all of this is similar to having a tyrannical government with a king. What could possibly go wrong?

I don't think they did No.3 in Merrie Olde Englande, but the others, yeah. This resulted in the usual: civil war and uprisings, both in Henry VIII's reign and again in the 1640s, that one being a religious war.
