Confederate Flag Just Pulled Down To Cheers And Jeers From A Bunch Of Assholes

Why was the crowd chanting USA USA USA USA USA as the rebel flag came down?

It's not about history or facts or common sense. It's about ignorance and emotion and grandstanding.
It's actually about stirring up a distraction from Obama's incompetence, and the criminality of both Obama and Hillary.

Glad its down.

The "Nah nah nah" chant was immature and childish. But they're libs. What did we expect? Simple silent dignity would've been more appropriate.

But....to them....its an "In your face white people!" moment. Reality sets in Monday...when they realize nothing changed.

:dunno: They just figured out where they are?

Why do we play the national anthem at baseball games? Did we think we were suddenly in Belgium?

I don't particularly like that flag....but the way those assholes were acting when it came down was disgraceful.

All of the singing and angry shouting that was going on made me sick.

They should have brought it down in the dark of night so those assholes wouldn't get the satisfaction.

Any thoughts?

Because they think that the USA represents tyranny and abusing everyone's freedoms now.

Oh please. The confederate flag didn't fly over the capitol from the end of the civil war to the 60s. The south never conceded defeat. The human spirit will never concede defeat to tyranny. The politically correct can try to hide the flag but they can't hide the principles of freedom behind the flag.
There are no principles of 'freedom' behind that flag! That flag represented a pro-slavery stance 150 years ago, a repressive Jim Crow set of laws that divided the south after that and low brow culture and racism since then.

A flag is supposed to unite a nation. Well, the 'nation' of traitors who embraced that flag had no concept of 'unity' when they started their treason at Ft. Sumpter. They claim they fought for 'state's rights'. What was the primary state's rights issue? Whether or not to have the state's right to allow property owners to hold another human being in perpetual bondage.

There is nothing noble, honorable or gracious imbued in that flag. For a state to fly it on public property is tantamount to branding that state as one in which freedom is an exclusive club and not all Americans need apply..

That flag has been around since the civil war and now all of a sudden its an issue??

Political correctness bullshit period.

Well no. That flag pretty much went away until civil rights became an issue, so those states pulled it out and put it up as a protest about the time they had to call out the national guard to escort that little girl to school.

I really don't understand why SC was still officially flying it....but then again....I don't believe in letting the mob rule our government.

My guess is this was designed to piss people off.

I'm not sure anyone beyond arcane historians knew that though. We're talking half a century ago.

Although the event does become a useful launching point to disseminate that history.

There were hundreds of Confederate flags there. It was flying no matter that they tried to take it down.

How silly it is to hear people talk about healing and reconciliation. The divide has gotten that much deeper and wider. Black people everywhere will be burdened with the blame of that flag coming down.

The confederate flag hasn't represented the south, specifically, for years. It does represent rebellion. Particularly rebellion against the PCBS that has infected the nation. Healing? Not even close.

Blacks have been wanting it down for decades. Nothing happened until white people finally listened and understood why.

Do you think that the Democrat party of 1861 held the same political beliefs of the Democrat party of 2015? Do you think that, in an ideological sense, the 1861 Democrats are totally in line with their counter parts today?

How about Republicans? Could it be truly said that the party of Lincoln accurately reflects the outlook, attitude and policies of the contemporary Republican party? Theodore Roosevelt 100 years ago was a Republican. Would his policies be embraced by current Republicans?

They were horrible in victory, should have been cooler than that.
