Hmm, the party of individual welfare in order to establish dependency and get votes seems to be angry that the same legal/constitutional mentality can be reversed in order to benefit corporations. Then when they hear conservatives bitch about welfare addiction they rush to point to the corporations as if it justifies welfare or grants some moral equivalence to their argument. In reality, liberals and progressives created both individual and corporate welfare. Before FDR's New Deal programs and Social Security the courts have largely agreed that the Congress must remain within the limitation of their enumerated powers. After FDR sought to get people free crap by enlisting the services of businesses and corporations and paying them our tax dollars. Think about it, modern EBT feeds the poor but who gets government grant money to make the EBT cards? How many junk food companies block legislation with the intent on barring junk food from EBT? In short, both the poor and corporations lobby congress for a power never envisioned in the U.S. Constitution, and all for votes. FDR started it and liberals/progressives pretend as if it were a conservative ideal. Give me a break. You made your bed, now sleep in it. Every modern day lobbyist is a progressive creation. But if you would like to detract from the ideals of Hamilton and come over to the Madisonian side of the U.S. Constitution, thereby eradicating most corporate and individual welfare, I'd welcome it. To liberals/progressives, the U.S. Constitution is an impediment to change.
