Could Trump actually beat Hillary in a debate?

That's the liberal spin on the term, but not the reality.

How about letting people choose their own health insurance and health plan.....?
Lmao. That's the theocrat spin on it. *shrug*

People can choose their own health plan. But actually have to choose a plan. There are lots of things we pay for that I'm not interested in carrying like farm subsidies to Michele bachmann's families and others like them and her closeted husband's pray away the gay program.

Then there was always the cost of baby bush's wars and corporate welfare.

You need to stop stalling your feet and whining. Especially when you like putting your nose in people's private lives.

Trump would destroy the hildebeast in a debate, literally destroy her. He would remind the voters about her history of lying and corruption without worrying about offending the stupid PC crowd, the feminists, or any other special interest group.

That's why the establishment is scared of Trump, they could not control him, they could not dictate policy to him, He would only owe allegiance to the American people and the constitution---------and that is what scares liberals, the media, and the money power brokers.

He, or someone like him, is the only way to save this country from becoming a socialist dictatorship.

jilly jelly belly thinks this is funny, must be the defective liberal gene acting up again.

After pounding her face in for 90 minutes in a debate, Trump would finish Clinton off by saying, "Look, we bought and sold Hillary around Washington like a hooker, okay? We owned her. I paid her to be at my wedding, all right? The truth is that she's for sale. Everybody in Washington knows she's for sale. And they know I'm not, and that scares the hell out of them."

Done.

1. Donald Trump would win the debate on economic policy. That would be a done deal.

2. Hillary would win on foreign policy, and how could she not? To even suggest Trump would be knowledgeable enough to beat her in this arena is fantasy. She could proclaim an out and out lie to shut Trump up, and he would not even know it was a lie.

3. Likability would drive this debate more than anything unless the "serious gaff" count was far more weighted on one side or the other.

The Democrats want everyone to see this race in a certain abstract, and it really isn't working for them at this time. They are putting forth the false notion that there are (made up numbers for expediency, but it makes the case) 1 million voters, and they are going to carry 525,000 of them, so it is a done deal.

That is a false narrative, plain and simple! They may be correct that there are 1 million voters, but they are not all going to vote. Now that is something very important to contemplate.

What we would actually have were it Hilly V Trump is a race unprecedented in modern American history, where by all polls, BOTH candidates are tremendously hampered by their personalities, and former actions. Neither is very likable by anyone but their ardent supporters.

In every scenario run for internals, the vote for Democrats in the general drops as opposed to 12, and much more than that for them from 08 regardless if the nominee is Hilly, or Sanders.

For the GOP, it depends upon who they nominate; at least as of right now...........or should I say, the day before the Iowa caucus. It could go significantly up, or it could go significantly down! The wildcard is............and honest, it is true...........one of the GOP candidates steals a much larger % of Democratic votes than any other. Neither Democratic candidate steals any significant amount of GOP voters. The independents dislike Hilly and Trump almost equally, lol.

So the bottom line is------------> The debates if it were Hilly and Trump would be about "acceptability," and little else. We can all sit here and proclaim it is our "our guy" or "girl," but it is not about us; no it isn't! It is about the people who do not like either one of them who will have to be convinced to don a gas mask, go into the voting booth, and pull a lever because the alternative is so bad, a gas mask for 4 or 8 years would not be sufficient to keep them from constantly choking. Because of this, if these 2 are the nominees, we will witness totally negative campaigns, and the debates will be cage matches.

With this all in mind, I call it even because if you want the media manipulated by a GOP candidate, you call on Trump above all others. If you want a chameleon who can change on a moments notice, you call Hillary. That is for the debates!

As far as the election, slight advantage Hillary because as of this moment, she starts out with a lead. That means that Trump has to convince or change more votes. But, with both of them being so unlovable, anything is possible!

donald trump bankrupted four corporations and ripped off his investors and his vendors. he's not winning an economic debate....particularly when rightwingnut trickle down economics is a failure.

he knows nothing of foreign policy except to spew racist stereotypes.

he loses on social policy as long as he panders to the radical religious right, abuses women and insults all voters except for white christians.

very good recitation of the dem talking points on Trump. Not a word of truth in it, but you did memorize it well.

You are a joke on this forum. Go find a kiddie forum to play on.

that's funny. i understand you're fact-averse and dumb as toast. but every word there is true. no talking points, idiota.

Nope, all lies and spin. The FBI is about to prove you wrong on all points, but keep your head up Hillary's ass if you feel comfortable there.

You are not pro-choice, you are pro-abortion. Stop with the bullshit.
Lonestar "logic"...oxymoron.

Being pro choice means a woman has the right to reproductive choice. I know that is threatening to the GOP...letting the women folk do what they want to.

Tough.

You see Jilly, you are speaking from the "my girl" perspective, instead of the "pick a smell" perspective. I am not saying you are absolutely wrong, just that you are using the "my girl" perspective.

Your talking points on economics are as ridiculous as your points on foreign policy is accurate, that is for sure. Still from the "my girl" perspective. That is what I was attempting to avoid, but what the heck, sometimes people are so blinded by the veracity of their own opinion, they refuse to take what is the only constant; numbers, into reality.

Be safe and have a nice Superbowl weekend.

Actually she is correct on all counts. As was evidenced by your reluctance (or was it outright fear) to debate and go with the tired personal insults which have become your only tool. As you will not debate me either...it is thereby confirmed.

Again. There Are no "talking points". You just don't like the whole truth thing. We've lived with the Donald for a lot of years in New York. And we know his good points and bad. Me? I don't choose my presidential candidates because they're celebrities

Enjoy your weekend too.

This is all speculation because Trump and Hillary won't be debating

hillary and the Canadian

I'd be surprised if Hillary limps to the nomination. She is going to lose new Hampshire next week and Democrats are fickle. They will start voting Bernie because it will be the cool thing to do for a few weeks.
avatar,,,write this down ,,,,you heard it here first lol Hillary Clinton will be your next president
You lefties have been saying that every since Obama won again in 2012. The scary thing is y'all might very well be right.

All he ever offers are platitudes with no substance. While I don't agree with Hillary on anything I don't think Trump could best her on substance. She would constantly be able to use one phrase that would keep Trump perpetually in defense mode, "Remember when you said......*insert liberal positions here*"

Something we can agree on. Trump is all about the bluster and the name-calling. He wouldn't be able to hold his own against either Hillary or Bernie.

It would be fun to watch him turn beet-red under the bronzer and start spitting with rage, though.

He is for America! Security for America! Jobs for America! There is no other leader!

the first job of a president is to protect America.

Benghazi.

TRUMP WINS! TRUMP WINS! TRUMP WINS!

Are you fucking serious?

Trump is a freaking idiot when it comes to public policy and foreign policy -- and he really doesn't understand our market economy. He's got a lot of smart people who work for him, no doubt. But they won't be up there on that stage with Hilary.

He could make her stroke out. She's prone to strokes, so it might be a really bad idea - hildebeast supporters would still vote for her when she's a drooling idiot.

Kindly post the medical evidence for the current state of Hillary Clinton's health.

A debate is a show. That is all. Just like Iowa, losing hurts you more than winning can help you.

The Republican Party nominee for President should be a high calibre person, right?
The Democratic Party nominee for President should be a high calibre person, right?

For all of the mindless idiocy of the board, and the jejune behavior of most posters on the political forum, we would agree that whomever "our side" or the "other side" puts up is likely qualified for the job. That being said, a debate shouldn't be that big a stumbling block for either individual. The only time it has been in the last 5-10 contests were when Sarah Palin found herself on a stage and held her own with Joe Biden. It isn't that big a deal.

Who wins is totally subjective in most cases.

The election is won by defining the other guy. If you want to know what Mr. Trump's real injury to the GOP is/was it is that the eventual nominee is toiling in his shadow when he or she should be getting their story out. Hillary's story is quite well known. The attempts to define her will have to wash up on the shore of knowledge that most Americans already know.

The GOP has a very hard road ahead.

Ted Cruz nor Donald Trump could beat Hillary Clinton in a debate. They both talk in platitudes--and never directly answer a question or they'll try and change the topic.

In a one on one debate -- Hillary Clinton would run them through a paper shredder. She is a two time senator, former Secretary of State--they wouldn't be able to hold a candle to her knowledge and that would be evident within the first 3 minutes of any debate.
Unlikely. Hillary screeches platitudes and partisan lib bumper stickers.

She does not debate.
