D.C. Police chief explains gun crime...but gets it wrong, criminals not locked up is the problem...

The police chief of Washington D.C. Points out the problems in D.C. But gets it wrong......she doesn't realize that D.C. Has the strictest hand gun control in the continental U.S. And they still have convicted felons getting guns as soon as they get out of prison. the real problem...they are letting gun criminals out of prison. You can have law abiding citizens carrying guns all day long and the crime rate will not increase. The same criminals are being arrested on weapons and murder charges, get out and shoot people.

the anti gun extremists say it isn't fair to point out that a lot of countries with extreme gun control have higher gun murder rates than us...they say they are 3rd world and don't count.

D.C. Is the Capitol of the most powerful FIRST world country in the world, with the most restrictive gun laws in the country, and they have done everything they can to keep the law abiding from owning and carrying guns.....and criminals easily get guns right after getting out of prison....

Ok. Salt Lake City and Nashville.....vs DC and Baltimore. All cities big enough for pro sports. Compare crime rates. Why the difference?

I am always curious. You have a normal, law abiding person. You give him a gun and a standard magazine. He will go through his whole life and never commit a crime. You have convicted criminals, who are not legally allowed to even touch a gun, or they are supposed to go to jail.....and yet the D.C. police chief, and the rest of the anti gun extremists focus their attention on the law abiding gun owner.

The chief of police in Washington, D.C., described all the issues created by the implementation of restrictive gun laws at a press conference about crime in the city Thursday.

The city is in the midst of a spike in murders that has brought it to nearly 30 percent above the same time last year and is on pace to reach 145 by the end of the year, a six-year high.

D.C. police chief Cathy Lanier said the city has seen “a huge influx, not only in guns in our major cities, but a huge influx in these high capacity magazines.”

Washington, D.C., which has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country, has banned high capacity magazines, or those that can carry more than 10 rounds.

You know what they don't have.....law abiding citizens carrying guns for protection...they have kept people from getting permits as they keep fighting the new carry laws in court....so who is doing all the freaking shooting?

And 30 round magazines....seriously...that is what they want to focus on......you could have law abiding citizens carrying 1000 round belts around all day long, and you aren't going to have an increase in gun murder...the problem, as it is everywhere is not punishing gun criminals....and letting them out of jail to keep shooting.....it is even in this article.....

Lanier also attributed the city’s recent murder spike to repeat offenders who have recently been released from prison obtaining weapons and then using them to murder people.

(How the freak are they obtaining weapons if they are convicted criminals? D.C. is the most surveilled city in the freaking United States, with the most restrictive gun laws in the country....and the criminals still get guns...this can't be excused as a 3rd world country...which the anti gun extremists do all the time....)


“Multiple of our offenders involved in the homicides have previous homicides and are recently back in the community,” she said. “So far this year 10 people involved in homicide have had prior homicide charges. Ten.”


(Then what the freak are they doing back on the freaking streets? This is the only gun problem in the country.......our judicial system that lets violent criminals back on the streets, to shoot and kill over and over again. Stop this, and our gun murder rate drops to almost nothing....)

Federal law prohibits anyone convicted of a felony from owning or possessing a firearm, yet somehow more than 10 percent of the murders in the city so far this year were committed by felons.

“What we’re seeing is violent offenders that are committing shootings and homicides that have multiple violent offenses,” Lanier said. “The number of guns recovered this year and last year are both up.”

(Multiple violent offenses........again...they are the problem, not the innocent, law abiding citizen carrying a gun for self defense against these criminals.....lock them up and out gun murder rate goes to almost nothing...._)

Washington, D.C., has a “may issue” handgun licensing policy, meaning it is very difficult for city residents to obtain a license to carry a handgun.

Yes.....keeping law abiding people from owning and carrying guns...yeah that's the ticket...right?
