I've actually been wondering if Gray's lead poisoning or his mothers drug use when he was a child had effected his bone density - thereby what would be "acceptable" force in a normal healthy childhood would become "excessive" due to frail bones. Not that the officers in question could have anyway to know that, of course. But I do have to wonder why his mother did not remove them from that area when she won settlement for her children's lead poisoning; the terms of that settlement are not public unfortunately so perhaps she accepted a minor payment. ~ Freddie Gray and sisters suffered lead poisoning family said in 2008 lawsuit


That aside, it's unfortunate for Baltimore that it was their children who started this, their children who felt this was an acceptable method of airing their grievances, and worse their children's impatience for the justice system's proper course. It is not prudent to rush a case, regardless of how upsetting it is, that is how we make mistakes and incorrectly jail people - that is not the American way, regardless of if the African American public at large thinks police are corrupt or not.

Education, be that their parents or the school system, has clearly failed these young people, soon to be adults.

Every left wing poster has but if you don't UNDERSTAND the frustration that many in the black community have to not being heard, then you are part of the problem.

I just spent about 10 min talking to my white co-worker and everytime I would bring up a guys spine was severed she would say:

"I know and thats wrong BUT THOSE BUSINESSES..."

I reminded her that if that guy wasnt killed there wouldnt be any protest. If people treated this guys life like it was the CVS window maybe something would change.

Then she tried the old "He wasnt an angel" tactic. Then the "police have hard jobs" tactic.

I reminded her again that the fucking guys spine was severed but she reacted more to the businesses than some guys life. Like BFD.

Apparently Property Rights supersede Human Rights to this woman.

Why does someone deserve the death penalty for having a record without due process of law? Why is that okay?

Ah .. but he did die from injuries he received while in police custody. Cops played judge, jury, and executioner, did they not? Did Mr. Gray have his day in court? Where is Mr. Gray now? Is Mr. Gray in jail awaiting trial? If not, what happened to him? And, who's going to tell his side?

I highly doubt they killed the guy on purpose.

So if a person has a criminal record, they should be beaten senselessly without committing a crime, handcuffed screaming in pain, and not properly secured to be thrown around the police van to the point of spine severity and death? That's what "they deserve"?

So if a person has a criminal record, they should be beaten senselessly without committing a crime, handcuffed screaming in pain, and not properly secured to be thrown around the police van to the point of spine severity and death? That's what "they deserve"?

Never said that. I simply noted the difference in outrage factor. Blacks defend their thugs. Whites don't. If the victim were white the family would likely still be pressing charges. But whites aren't going to burn down their own neighborhood in righteous indignation nor are they going to make a big stink about it in the media. Nor would it get the same media play. This is because blacks are professional victims who jump on any opportunity to demand more services from the government to cure their ills (paid for by the taxpayer of course.) They don't really care about the victim. They want free loot from both their local stores and the government.
