It's not about divorcing anything. It's about learning from your mistakes. In my case, I made the mistake of assuming that Obama would be any different from Bush on foreign policy. Trump was the first president in my lifetime to offer anything different from the standard warmongering bullshit we've had since 9/11. And if Trump disappears from the political scene, then whoever comes next had better attempt to minimize our interventionism, or I'll go back to voting Libertarian for the most part.

The main reason so many on the left hate him is because their leaders have told them to hate him. And if they told them not to hate him, they would relent.

The best evidence for this is how they went from hating and mocking McCain in 2008 to worshipping him years later for taking a few minor stands against Trump. They did something similar with Bush for the same reasons.

That’s all he was good for. The ONLY reason he became rich to begin with is because daddy gave him the money. He gave him 10s of millions of dollars in 1980s inflation. His businesses were propped up by his dad. He didn’t actually write The Art of the Deal in case you don’t know. He’s a terrible businessman. He bankrupted a CASINO. The truth of the matter is that he was always too stupid to be a self made businessman. We now know his billions in wealth are tied up in his properties. Fred Trump died in 1999, so in order to believe that he's a billionaire now solely from "daddy's help" would require the assumption that his help was so good that it allowed him to go from a millionaire to a billionaire today over the course of about 25 years.
