Democrat "Responsibility"

It's a shared responsibility, but a thread like this is a glaring example of how partisanship clouds judgment and logic.

'Cuz filibusters and obstructionism are mythological creatures.

^ Nonsense.

There is, in fact, MUCH blame to share.

But when it comes to the present shutdown, the FULL, ENTIRE, COMPLETE, TOTAL and UTTER blame lies at the feet of the Democrats and the Democrats alone.

To deny that is just dishonesty.

Nothing more.

No, to deny that the Law passed and the Republicans failed to repeal it 40 times is dishonesty.

Maybe. But (of course) nobody is denying any such thing. So, nice strawman, GT. :cuckoo::eusa_liar::cuckoo: Lame and silly, but pointless.

Listen up. The law passed. It got subject to efforts to repeal it and didn't get repealed. It got challenged on a Constitutional basis and by virtue of a dishonest SCOTUS chief Justice "opinion" it somehow irrationally survived. And?

Nobody is saying it didn't pass. Nobody is claiming that prior efforts to rescind it didn't get attempted and fell short. Nobody is denying that it cleared the hurdle of a SCOTUS evaluation.

But What a prior Congress passed and the shithead President signed while "law" at present is not immune to additional efforts to void it. ONE way to do that is to fucking DEFUND it. CONGRESS, not the President and not the SCOUTS holds the Constitutional power of the purse strings. Accordingly, this is a PERFECTLY VALID Constitutional method to seek to overturn "Obamacrapcare."

Learn to cope.

To deny that they're taking said failure to the funding of the Government, now, and causing the current stale-mate, is also dishonesty.

False. It is your CLAIM that is dishonest. The effort to DEFUND Obamacrapcare and Obamacrapcare alone is what the GOP tried in the House. Newsflassh: The idiot Senate Majority leader would not permit THAT perfectly CLEAN CR to get through the Senate. It is HE and his cohorts who are thus preventing the entire rest of the U.S. government from getting funded. <-- THAT is just a simple honest FACT and your denials of that FACT are pitiable and wholly dishonest of you and all your partisan propagandist cohorts.

And to deny that the Senate passed a clean CR with spending levels first proposed by Boehner himself, who will not even allow a vote b/c of their insistence to cut away at Obamacare (this way), versus the (right) way that they FAILED 40 times at, is DISHONESTY.

Bullshit. You offer nothing but more and more of the same tired dishonest lolberal partisan hack spin. The HOUSE passed a "CR" that funded ALL of the US government EXCEPT for Obamacrapcare and REID and the maggots of the Democrat Parody in the SENATE won't permit it to even get voted on.

It's a bicameral legislature. For a reason.

Yet the incumbent President assured everyone that he wouldn't even negotiate on this matter. Well, fuck him. He is not the Emperor and he is not a dictator. This is still a Constitutional REPUBLIC and if he wants to address the issues, then he's going to have to work within THAT construct.

yea, attaching a defunding of obamacare to the CR is a "clean" CR, and I'm the one being dishonest?

lol, too funneh, too funneh.

The White House also confirmed the call and said Obama repeated to Boehner "what he told him when they met at the White House last week: the president is willing to negotiate with Republicans — after the threat of government shutdown and default have been removed — over policies that Republicans think would strengthen the country."

"I want to have a conversation. I'm not drawing lines in the sand. It is time for us to just sit down and resolve our differences," said Boehner, R-Ohio.

He added: "There's no boundaries here. There's nothing on the table, there's nothing off the table."

For his part, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he is willing to negotiate over the budget but only after the government is funded and the debt ceiling lifted.

"All we're asking is that government be reopened. Stop threatening a catastrophic default on the nation's bills," the Nevada Democrat said.

1) If it is your claim that the ACA TAX LAW ***VALIDLY***PASSED provide a link to the bill which ORIGINATED IN THE HOUSE as required by the Constitution.

2) The ISSUE before SCOTUS was whether the Obama administration could use the COMMERCE CLAUSE for the mandate - not weather it was a lawful tax.

.

yea, attaching a defunding of obamacare to the CR is a "clean" CR, and I'm the one being dishonest?

lol, too funneh, too funneh.

yes. You are.

There is no such thing as a "clean" CR.

That's just lolberal butthurt propaganda bullshit.

There shouldn't BE any CR's anyway.

That's just evasion of the obligation to pass the budget.

The Obamabullshitcare bill passed via disingenuous trickery in the first place. You might deny that fact too, but your denial would be another falsehood by you.

Since it got passed by such illicit means, it is ripe for de-funding by any means whatsoever.

And finally, the ENTIRE blame for the gubmint shutdown lies at the feet of the always dishonest lolberal Democrats in Congress and in the Administration. The GOP controlled HOUSE passed a CR that would have funded everything BUT for Obamabullshitcare.

It is the shithead Democratics in the Senate (moron hack scumbags like Reid) and the mutant prick in the Oval Orifice who CHOSE instead to shut down (17% of) the government.

Those filthy bastards.

Oh, I guess by that logic.....9/11 was the fault of republicans.

Oh, I guess by that logic.....9/11 was the fault of republicans.

^ Idiotic guesswork.

The fault for 9/11 is al qaeda, first of all.

Secondly, the fact that W was in office at the time of the attack does not mean that domestic policies and in-actions that long preceded W's Administration were not at the heart of why al qaeda was able to do it.

None of which has diddly dick to do with anything else discussed in this thread.

I love that you're able to dig deeper in to the causes of something that happened under a republican president. But anything that happens under a democrat president is exactly as it seems...the fault of democrats...no further analysis needed.

And you wonder why you've never done anything with your life. You're not honest with anyone, including yourself.

Thereby choosing to shut down the government if they don't get their way. How hard is that to understand. Apparently most Americans do understand......

A compromise was already reached and it was the Republicans who reneged on it.

Republicans in Congress have blocked all efforts since April to form a conference committee to negotiate on the budget.

This is the "Hail Mary" pass to the end zone.

And let us hope they don't cave. WE have to keep up the pressure.

Obama and Reid are BOTH still not accepting anything. Their stance? Our way or else...BLAME Republicans in particular? TEA Party 'terrorists'. Nice to be called terrorist for defending the Constitution and future generations, isn't it?

And don't be fooled by the "Meetings" at the Whitehouse. It's photo-op time for Obama because HE feels the pressure as his ratings sink to 37%.

First downgrade of nation's bonds in history: Democrat run gubmint.

The Sequester: Democrat run gubmint.

Government (partial) shutdown: Democrat run gubmint.

Possibility of the first debt default in U.S. history, pending
: Democrat run gubmint.

Democrat "Responsibility" is a myth, except that they ARE responsible for the majority of our calamitous woes.

Everything you mentioned occurred because of actions by the Republican majority in the House,

actions that the Democrats could not control, because they didn't 'run' the part of the government known as the House of Representatives.

You mean like the Super-Committee that was designed to stop the Sequester?

How did that turn out?

The thing that pisses me off is the 'cuts' that will come to SS. SS was NEVER paid into by the government. The entire fund came from employees and employers. The government has been raiding it for 50 years. Now there isn't enough there for us. The AARP has some interesting data and petitions to be signed and sent to congress in case you are interested. I won't live to be 70, but under the proposed cuts any woman who lives to be 80 will lose $32,000 in SS benefits over her lifetime.

Since the government never put any money into SS, WTF do they think gives them the right to take from the trust funds, then tell us there isn't enough money to go around. I don't know why seniors haven't sued the government over this. It is nothing but conversion. The government should have to give us our money back with the interest that would have been drawn on it had it never been taken.

The Sequester: Caused by the teabaggers refusing to end the horrific Bush tax cuts to their cronies.

Fortunately, the Bush tax cuts were held in place to the bitter end, due to fiscal conservatives and not the Tea Party.

First downgrade of nation's bonds in history: Caused by the teabaggers refusing to cut their insane spending

^ Dishonest. It was caused by insane liberal Democrap policies and spending.

The Sequester: Caused by the teabaggers refusing to end the horrific Bush tax cuts to their cronies.

^ Total horse shit. It is caused by the liberal Democrats and their insane insistence on spending that for which they have not budgeted.

Possibility of the first debt default in U.S. history, pending
: Caused by the teabaggers and Boner refusing to bring up a vote that would pass

^ Utter bullshit: If it happens it will be because the moron infesting the Oval Orifice is too fucking stupid to realize the gravity of the situation and too jackass shithead stubborn to even negotiate to avoid a calamity. If assholes like him could be impeached for criminal stupidity, he should have already been impeached and removed from Office.

BL obviously wants a real Boston Tea Party.

It's the democrats fault the gop is shutting down the gummit to defund obamacare.

Then the republicans chose their battles well, because what if Obamacare in itself could be the straw that broke the camel's back? America cannot let the poor overrun its health care system, which Obamacare is designed to do.
