YES! About time wounded veterans are once again shown their place by the Democrats. Expecting special consideration from the party of the people, what gall. Now I suppose that the democrats will want to start painting over the handicapped parking spaces.

Democratic Caucus Angry Tammy Duckworth Denied Proxy Vote

House Democrats are continuing to pick at Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to allow Rep. Tammy Duckworth — a double amputee Iraq War veteran whose pregnancy has made her unable to travel — to vote by proxy in leadership elections this week.

Pelosi and her allies have been saying since Nov. 13, when the issue first came up, that House Democratic Caucus rules prohibit proxy votes, and that allowing exceptions for the Illinois Democrat would create a slippery-slope scenario.

ON THE SAME NOTE:
Nancy Pelosi seems to think Democrats won the election. She’s wrong.

So not one democrat had the monetary balls to vote no, not one. We now know for sure what drives democrats. After one of the biggest defeats in history she is still voted to the top, why? Because of money.

War wounds didn't prevent Duckworth from voting. Her pregnancy did. I personally don't see anything wrong with proxy voting and she should have been allowed to vote. I can also see that allowing proxy voting due to pregnancy might create a precedent that they wouldn't allow. Would that mean that ALL pregnant women could vote by proxy. If pregnancy is a reason for proxy voting, what comparable situation would it be to allow men to vote by proxy?

Another example of the Democrat war on women.

Remember when Joe Walsh, Tammy's opponent for Congress, attacked her with the charge that she was using her war disabilities for political gain?

Oh yeah, now you remember.

The old bag should have been sent to GITMO years ago:

Other then a non sequitur what is it you want us to remember? That granting a double amputee who is also pregnant a proxy vote would set a precedence? How many other people fall into that category. She gave her legs for our country and Pelosi won't even grant her a meaningless vote.

Why do you not address the question of House Democratic Caucus rules prohibiting proxy votes, and how allowing exceptions could be a potential problem?

I find nothing here to support the notion this is all about money

Great post.

Respect for service in mind.

Why should combat veterans be exempt to rules of governing?

You're involved in pure election politics designed to tug at our heart strings without any rational analysis

If Tammy Duckworth deserves special treatment, why did the Republicans run candidates against her?

This has to be posted again.

Did the Republicans say she wasn't worthy of a vote?

So, when do you plan to start the campaign to paint over them damn blue lines that keep me from parking close?

I think Pelosi should be sued under the American with Disability Act.
