Egalitarianism
Egalitarianism is a philosophical perspective that emphasizes equality and equal treatment across gender, religion, economic status and political beliefs.

This concept will never work. Competition drives the free market and hard working, driven, entrepreneurs will succeed. People who work for them will benefit and society will benefit through taxes for infrastructure such as roads, hospital's, and schools.
Social egalitarianism is a failed concept as well. Everyone should have the opportunity to go as far as talent and hard work can take them. But that is where it stops. Some people expect (Democrats), that the government should be the great equalizer in socio-economic matters. Now you push the boundaries of creating an Orwellian dystopian culture. Americans have long subscribe to the belief of "rugged individualism."
Post-Civil War our nation has adopted a legal form of egalitarianism that holds to the principal that all men equal treatment in the eyes of the law. This turns upon substantive and procedural due process of law. But, if you commit crimes (violation of the social contract) you will be incarcerated or your life terminated in extreme instances. Democrats apparently don't subscribe to this because they instead play the race card instead of looking at the underlying problems that see people from certain area's incarcerated at a higher rate than other places. Destroying businesses in these communities is counter productive, yet people did it anyway. Egalitarianism cannot be extended to society as a whole because some people are just plain idiots.
