Donald Trump understood how serious this was and he went after the Mexican government. At least during the Trump administration we saw a concerted effort byMexico to slow the flow to our border. When Biden won, President Obrador turned Mexico into an immigrant and Fentanyl expressway straight to our Southern Border.

Holy F' .. the money will all be going to supply transportation and other needs for migrants, and most likely will be a yearly thing now, probably increasing each year.

This is WAY beyond political bickering. This is the demise of our country. None of these people are going back once they are in. Every last one of them will require hundreds of thousands of dollars in "free" food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, etc. Their kids will require schools to hire teachers and tutors who speak their native languages.

One of our biggest problems is that the actual border there runs through the river and, even if an impenetrable wall were built, it would be up from the river, not on the actual border IN the river. So, according to US law, as soon as you cross the actual border in the river, you are in US territory and subject to US law, even though you haven't even actually made it to the wall yet. At that point US law kicks in, and we are screwed at that point, even if they haven't made it to the wall. That's why we currently help illegals get out of the river, give them goody bags, and again, help them get on to buses. So, we only have two options.

1. somehow we build a wall in the actual river on the real border and defend it from people crossing

2. change US law so that the above does not apply
