Biden Administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Thursday that it will not investigate the widespread mishandling of nursing homes in Pennsylvania at the height of the pandemic, according to The Hill.

The DOJ sent a letter to the office of Governor Tom Wolf (D-Penn.) informing him of their decision. Wolf had been accused of violating the law and gross negligence in his mandate that nursing homes be forced to accept patients who had tested positive for the coronavirus, despite the clear and dangerous threat this presented to otherwise healthy residents.

Governor Wolf was not the only Pennsylvania official who faced criticism for the nursing home scandal. Richard Levine, who then served as Secretary of Pennsylvania’s Department of Health, had faced similar criticism for the fact that, after Governor Wolf’s order was first implemented, he went out of his way to have his own elderly mother moved out of such a nursing home and into a private facility in order to be shielded from the likely spread of the virus. Levine, a biological man who thinks he is a woman, now serves as the Assistant Secretary for Health in the Biden Administration.

The DOJ under the Trump Administration had originally planned to investigate such nursing home scandals in the states of Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, to determine if any of these states’ policies had “resulted in the deaths of thousands of elderly nursing home residents.” The recent announcement seems to suggest that the DOJ, now under Biden’s control, will not pursue charges against any of the other states.

The most infamous example of such a nursing home-related debacle came from New York, where Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) first made such an order in March of 2020; after widespread backlash, he rescinded the order in May, but not before the decision had cost the lives of thousands of elderly citizens. It was eventually revealed that his office had actively tried to cover up the true death total of nursing homes in order to protect his image ahead of his re-election campaign in 2022. Following this revelation, investigations were announced against Cuomo’s administration by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and U.S. Attorney Seth DuCharme of the Eastern District of New York.

Cuomo is also facing separate investigations by New York Attorney General Letitia James (D-N.Y.), as well as an impeachment investigation by the New York State Assembly, for numerous accusations of sexual assault that have been made against him in recent months. Nevertheless, Cuomo is still actively running for re-election to a fourth consecutive term in 2022.

The nursing homes deaths from covid were intentional....5 blue states sent infected people back into nursing homes to raise the death count quickly to make covid appear more scary than it needed to be....every governor that did this needs to be prosecuted for murder....

That GD freak took her mom out of the nursing home knowing her actions were murderous.

If that was my mom and she created a thing like that, I'd have shot her death yrs ago

Very poor reporting in that article. It failed to mention, it was the CDC guidelines to take back in to the home, their residents that were hospitalized when sick, but now well enough, to be hospital released....under the condition the homes kept the returning covid residents, isolated from the regular residents...and some other requirements until they fully recovered. They were not put back in to the Home's general population of residents....

at least they were not suppose to be... That part should be investigated.

It boils down to whether or not there was an intentional cover-up, as with NY/Cuomo or any type of intentional mislabeling with nursing home deaths. Considering those two elements the intentional cover-up is absolutely intolerable in the minds of most voters. Mislabeling can be made to appear like clerical errors, whether or not intentional is harder to determine. When you see numbers of cases of mislabeling (died FROM or WITH COVID - big difference) that’s reportedly been an issue where actual COVID-19 deaths being conflated that is highly suspect. Example, a relatively young man in a nursing home choked on his food in bed and had tested positive two weeks prior to Covid cause of death marked- Covid-19. False data but gave the nursing home federal money by reporting it that way.

The etymology of "cover-up" presumes intent....DUH!

There is no evidence that the instructions provided by the CDC to the states in regard to returning nursing home patients to the nursing homes after they were no longer infectious caused ANY deaths at all.

This was simply the attempt Republicans to make he political pay out of Trump’s CDC order.

As for taking his mother out of a nursing home, anyone with half a brain and the ability to bring family members home, did that.

I dispute your recollection of events. Cuomo and the other guy sent them back because it was already know infected. Not potentially. It was. It was the logical thing to do rather than infect another place

That's the reason would will suffer no consequences.

That sounds like death camps to me. I think we all know the answer why Rachel Levine moved her own mother out of her nursing home right before they started shipping COVID infected people in.

They didn't return the once covid resident from the hospital back in to the nursing home's general population....when the hospital said the resident no longer needed hospital care, they were sent in to isolation in to the quarantine quarters of the nursing home. They were kept in a separate ward of the Home, until they were healed and covid free....then returned back to their room in the general population.

There is no proof that the CDC guideline to return recovering covid patients back to their nursing home, in to isolation first,

Infected any residents in these homes.....

The nurses aids were found to be the covid spreaders in nursing homes....

Cuomo, nor any of the governors with high nursing home deaths, will be charged with anything.

Yes it was dumb bitch....blue governors blue cities....dumbass...

All of the states with outbreaks were doing it because the CDC, run by Trump’s hand picked guy because the prior Director wasn’t sufficiently “loyal” to Trump, told them to do that.

But Fox News and the rest of the right wing media only went after the blue state governors for doing this. Not one word was mentioned about Maryland. Here’s a copy of their April 30, 2020 directive which is worded precisely like the New York EO:

RIGHT OF RETURN FOR RESIDENTS. Nursing home resident admitted or seen at a hospital for COVID-19 must be allowed to return to the nursing as long as the facility can follow the approved CDC recommendations for transmission-based precautions.

Trump didn’t care about the red state governor’s doing it, he only publicized the blue states who were doing it.
