At each applause line a piano would play a few bars of what sounded like some old time religion tunes...never heard that before for a political speech. Obabble should incorporate that into hIs next state of the union speech.

I am listening to a recording of it.

What bullshit.

"tragic and unneccessary shooting"

Tragic? yes. Tragic for the parents.

"unneccessary"? Only if Zimmerman wanted surrender his life at the hands of the thug Trayvon Martin.

He's trying to set the stage for when he has to admit that there is no federal case against Zimmerman.

What better way to attack concealed carry than to remove the protection of laws like "stand your ground"?

Adolf Hitler is alive - and he's black....

Holder is a racist pimp, a pile of shit and a disgrace to this nation.

The audience was so stupid they need a cue when to clap. But what can you expect form an organization who invites a lawyer to speak who says the shooting was unnecessary when a jury has already said it was necessary. Holder has no business in the justice system, maybe he should go back to working for the NAACP, oh wait, evidently he is still working for them.

this administration is determend to leave us defenseless

Holder: "Stand Your Ground" allows, encourages escalating violence

Laws like "Stand Your Ground" undermine innocent Americans' safety "by allowing - and perhaps encouraging - violent situations to escalate in public," Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday afternoon, three days after George Zimmerman's acquittal in the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager spurred civil rights protests across the United States.

Delivering remarks to the NAACP's annual conference in Orlando - 30-something miles from where Zimmerman, claiming "self-defense," fatally shot Trayvon Martin - Holder acknowledged that "as passionate civil rights leaders, as engaged citizens and, most of all, as parents," his audience members remained "deeply - and rightly - concerned about this case." Calling the teen's death "tragic and unnecessary," he stressed that his department will consider "all available information" in determining whether to pursue federal criminal charges against Zimmerman.

Holder reiterated President Obama's statement following the verdict that "we are a nation of laws, and the jury has spoken." But "separate and apart from the case that has drawn the nation's attention," he continued, "it's time to question laws that senselessly expand the concept of self-defense and sow dangerous conflict in our neighborhoods.

all of it here

I am waiting for some armed citizen to get out of his car and lay waste to half a dozen protesters who are hammering on his vehicle...like in Oakland...lets see the shit really hit the fan.

Love the part where he was running to get to the theater and the police stopped him for "running while black" and he was a Federal Prosecutor at the time.

...it’s time to question laws that senselessly expand the concept of self-defense and sow dangerous conflict in our neighborhoods. These laws try to fix something that was never broken.

I am not sure it expands the concept ...but it does support it...something an aggressor of any type had best begin to consider.
