Did Walz have the gift of prophecy or a time machine he used to warn of deployment? No he did not.

I posted this one before: "almost every unit and member of the U.S. Military is subject to potential deployment at some point in the future and trains constantly toward that inevitability."

Minnesota National Guard officials weigh in on Walz service

"However, according to information shared by multiple official sources within the MNG, Walz earned that rank and would need either the gift of prophecy or a time machine to use the deployment as an excuse to leave the service, as his May 2005 retirement date came months before the 1-125th Battalion of the 1st Brigade Combat Team learned they would mobilize and most of a year before the unit was actually deployed to Iraq for what would become a historically long, 22-month tour."

"According to Lt. Col. Kristen Augé, the MNG’s State Public Affairs Officer, Walz “served from April 8, 1981, to May 16, 2005″ during which time he “held multiple positions within field artillery such as firing battery chief, operations sergeant, first sergeant, and culminated his career serving as the command sergeant major for the battalion.”"

This has all been said before by myself and others here, and especially by others in Walz's previous campaigns.

24 years x 12 months = 288 months (thats being generous as it only assumes he left right at 24 years).

Time from his retirement to pursue politics until the date of deployment= 2 months

Therefore, the timing of his retirement was accurate within 0.069% of his entire time in the military.

In other words he left the military just as he was going to deploy, accurate within the 99th percentile of his entire time there. That is an amazing stroke of luck perhaps, especially when he had been there for such long a period of time.

It is probably why they increased his rank as they assumed he would stick around to complete the work needed for this rank while knowing they would be deploying him. A rank perhaps they knew he coveted. He dropped that pursuit of the rank he has promoted so proudly, knowing he was going to be deployed if he stuck around.

Maybe I am completely wrong, but that's how I would presume this situation unfolded.

Will we ever see apologies from people here and elsewhere for attacking the honorable military service of a man who spent over two decades serving his country?

Go away nasty troll. Go away will your nonsense. We're onto your switch back and forth between assassinating the character of an honorable man and playing nice guy. Take your hate, pack it up and see if Canada will keep you. We surely don't want you -- hater.

Timelines and facts dont need to make sense for right wing knuckleheads. They literally respond to stimuli like a single cell organism.

Walz knew the deployment was coming .. he even stated he would go. How convenient to retire early right as the official alert was announced followed by a mobilization of his would-be unit. Gosh .. he even put in his retirement papers without finishing the eligibility to retain his temporary rank as E-9 and was therefore demoted with a retirement pay grade of E-8. Of course .. he embellished his temporary/contingent rank even after he retired.

Hey, I just ask the questions, I'm a nobody.

I try to be your conscience.

Walz retired as an E-8, not an E-9, which he temporarily and contingently held. He didn't finish the eligibility requirements to maintain his E-9 rank. That's just a fact.

According to his ranking officer, they knew deployment was coming before he retired.

You know…..
When you find yourself in a hole, it is time to stop digging

Republicans tried a trial Swiftboating balloon and it failed miserably.

Walz retired after 24 years and did not know about a deployment
Walz was his units Command Sergeant Major when he retired

You guys need to go back to making fun of Kamala’s name

Sigh .. he is an E-8, and not an E-9.

From AP News:
Harris’ campaign has referred to Walz as a “retired Command Sergeant Major, one of the top ranks for an enlisted soldier. He did in fact achieve that rank, but personnel files show he was reduced in rank months after retiring. That left him as a master sergeant for benefits purposes.

Minnesota National Guard officials have said that Walz retired before completing coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, along with other requirements associated with his promotion.

He could not retire till he hit 20 years, thus it at most was only 48 months and not 288.

You are completely wrong, but then again you normally are
