How civilized is it for a man to kidnap a 17 year old girl, rape her repeatedly, and then burn her alive?
- Think of the pain, the horror, the nightmare, and everything he put her through... and try to convince me that this was more civilized then placing a needle in his arm when he is sentenced to die so that when he dies he does so calmly, peacefully, and without pain.

Sometimes I personally believe that murderers, if convicted and sentenced to die, should be put to death in the exact same way they murdered their victims.

Doing so might not be what you or some people would call civilized, but it is as civilized as the death they gave their victims. I think they should suffer in the same way, feel the same fear and horror that they forced upon their victims.

Again, that's only sometimes I feel that way, but the Civilized way, I know, is not to do this so we put prisoners to death in the most humane and peaceful way possible, even though they do not deserve such a death.

There's an old joke out there that says one legal defense for killing someone in Texas is that they 'needed killing'.

It is a joke, but I believe there are certain evil people in the world who offered no socially redeeming value whatsoever, and only pray upon others and cause misery, horror, and death. I am not alone in this opinion however. I watch the TV special on serial rapist and they interviewed one who had been arrested and jailed 5 times after committing some pretty heinous crimes, to include raping in hurting children. He had been jailed five times, he had been chemically castrated, and nothing would take away the desire to sexually assault and hurt his victims, especially children. The reporter asked him what he thought civilized society should do to people like him proven to have such a problem. This man told the reporter that there is no way to fix people like him, to make them no longer a threat to society, and that in his opinion Society should kill him and 'monsters' like him. God bless our society for trying to save and Salvage broken and horrible human beings like this man, but what is it say about our society when the worst Among Us, the murderers and rapists in prison, will not tolerate anyone who hurts a child, who will kill any inmate in their midst who is violently / hurt raped a child yet our 'civilized' society will not.

But bottom line, I have no problem putting some people to death for some of the most horrible crimes we could never even imagine being inflicted upon good, law-abiding citizens.
