Does the need for authoritarian governance grow as the quality of the average citizen degrades?

If you look at the nations around the world populated by poor quality, low iQ human beings you will find authoritarian rule.
Is this out of necessity?
Could these nations transfer the power to the people and thrive in doing so?
Consider this....as things continue to go to shit here, good people are forced to forfeit liberties as government must get involved via legislation in order to keep things civil and firstworld like....With that said, where are we headed with our new populous of thirdworlders?

No what does happen, is that when there's a perception of a country going downhill. There will be room for people coming in that give easy answers as how to fix it and to why this is happening. They call it populism. This creates room for those trying to get power to use this malcontent to grab more power than they would be able to get in a stable country. The best example I can give is the Nazi party. They came on the scene in the aftermath of WWI they declined during the twenties and came back in a big way in the wake of the great depression. IQ has absolutely nothing to do with it. The simple fact is that most people aren't interested in complicated explanations of problems when they are afraid. Which of course is why fear is a tool used by those seeking authoritarian power.

If we leave only the wealthy in charge our descent will increase exponentially

Yes, even a developed country can succumb to fear and loathing. I often try to discuss courage with the more fearful members of this board and it is clear they are strangers to the concept.

One possiblility is that you've generalizing from the fact that you think you're poor quality & have a low IQ and you live in Iran. Another possibility is you live in the states & you're talking about something you've never checked into.

A good guess is that you like making up goofy ideas --it's the fact that you've never bothered to back up your theory w/ say, IQ scores v. national freedom indexes.
