They really don't stop the Illegals from crossing at all, the way they are currently configured. They can take pics, but unless there are enough staff to actually go up and response to a drone alert, its pretty pointless.

The only way to get EFFECTIVE drones on the border is to arm the drones with darts coated with Thorazine which will sedate the Illegals for long enough that the Border Patrol can load them on to carts and drive them back across the border before they come to.
