99.7 WTN afternoon radio host Brian Wilson reported Wednesday that Hale “took money from an education grant she received to purchase her weapons and to pay for training at a local gun range.”

Hale purchased seven guns, three of which were recovered from the Covenant School after she died during an encounter with Metro Nashville Police Department officers, police said at the time in a post to X. She killed six people, including three children.

And the students need the money. They will buy textbooks, supplies, pay for gas to & from, etc etc

I still maintain there should be a mandatory 1 year service to the military, national guard, coast guard, anything when someone turns 18. No combat duty or overseas travel, but doing something even if it's washing dishes or uniforms.

Then after that 1 year you can have access to a college grant from the government, but only if the degree is in engineering, medical, psychiatry, architecture, law or other degree that will be of value to society.

But just handing out grants needs to stop. Those grants from the government should require something in order to earn them.
