Virginia schools think otherwise .. Equitable outcomes is everyone ends at the same place, and that's exactly what the 17 - 20 schools in Virginia did. Procrastinated with presenting awards because of the other minority groups who didn't qualify. That's why schools are dumping subjects like math, because some minority groups aren't grasping it.

The Chinese and Russian kids are grasping math. Having US public schools put out kids that can't do math like Baltimore is moronic.

Why punish smart kids who can do advanced subjects? Public schools need to be defunded.

Private schools can allow kids to work up to their capabilities.

All you have to do is look at California, where it is trying to make math classes more equitable, even to the point where primarily black schools don't have advanced classes offered. California has a track record of abysmal scores in math proficiency amongst students, and Oregon has gotten to the point where the Governor signed into law that proficiency requirements in math and reading weren't required to graduate.

Schools are failing in basic topics of reading and math: Baltimore, California, Illinois ... etc. etc. No reason to make stuff up .. it's a reality.

You can't have equality and equitable outcomes .. California schools have proved that by bringing together high-achieving students with low-achieving students (de-tracking), and proficiency tests continue to go downhill. Reading and math proficiency isn't required to graduate in Oregon ... all in the name of equity. All it does it makes children less incentivized to succeed and doesn't provide critical thinking or how to solve problems for all students ... in the name of equity!
