EV maker slashes prices as it tries to avoid bankruptcy

Consumer Alert: Kia and Hyundai Issue Recalls for 3.3M Vehicles, Advise Owners to Park Outside | NHTSA

Millions of Kia's and Hyundai's were recalled for a fire risk. It happens.

Fisker may go out of business. So did Oldsmobile, Pontiac, AMC, Hudson, etc. It happens.
thanks----but there are OTHER things powered by Lithium batteries. For example---someone came up with a little food processor thing with a
rechargeable LITHIUM BATTERY----would such a device constitute a fire risk?

I imagine it could. Regular appliances have been known to start fires. It happens.

It's Friday. Are you drunk?

Priceless
And any economist will tell you what is not immediately obvious: EV charging will necessarily be cut, drastically

IF one does not understand the following one is justifiably called a FOOL :)

US government builds seven electric vehicle chargers in two years. Just another 499,993 to go

Despite concerns at the slow pace, transport officials say 500,000 public charging stations will be available nationwide by 2027

EV companies can’t survive in California. In fact, very few companies can survive in Democrat controlled California. But every EV company is hurting, even with the high gas prices.

California-based electric vehicle startup Fisker slashed the prices of some of its vehicles as it fights to avoid bankruptcy after a potential deal with another automaker fell through.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the 2023 Ocean electric SUV lineup in the U.S., which is equipped with Fisker’s 2024 Ocean OS software version 2.0, fell by tens of thousands of dollars.

Fisker lowered the MSRP for the 2023 Ocean Extreme trim from $61,499 to $37,499, the company said Wednesday. The 2023 Ultra trim will be priced at $34,999, down from $52,999, and the 2023 Sport will be priced at $24,999, down from $38,999, according to the automaker.

Fortune 500 headquarters by state. Seems business in California is just fine. Fortune 500 companies make up 65% of the GDP.

/----/ The Gubmint lied???? Say it ain;t so.

EV's are expensive, difficult to charge, don't perform well in the cold, have limited range, depreciate rapidly, and the batteries are very expensive to replace. Because of their weight they are bad for the roads, and parking garages may need to be rebuilt. They are also a lot worse for the environment than people think, and rely on child laborers in spit-stop countries in order to mine the rare earth minerals needed to run them. Other than that, they are a hell of a deal!

How many aircraft carriers did the US have in 1941 and how many in 1945, even after losses? America is and has been very great for a very long time and we decide to do we almost always do. All we need are rational ideas, rational leadership and rational cooperation.

For someone with a 2 car garage (charge) and a 5 mile work commute they can be a reasonable choice if you want to pay 2X to avoid fulling up and oil changes. For long trips use gas or rent a gas car.

I am friends with two retired engineer's. Both have Tesla's. They very much enjoy taking long trips in their cars. They enjoy planning their routes and keeping track of how much power they use.

They never have a problem.

Is this for everyone? No.

EV's are hard on the environment, too expensive to replace their batteries, too heavy for the road making road conditions more hazardous, harder on tires, and not enough natural resources to make enough of them to replace gas cars.

Did I mention they are not affordable for most?

But the kicker is, the Climate Cult will mandate them anyway.

Why are they even doing this when they still use fossil fuels for the electricity to fuel them?

Idiots.
Which is harder on the environment over their lifetimes, EVs or ICE vehicles?

Actually passenger vehicle weight is an insignificant item in regards to road wear and road damage. It doesn’t matter whether they are electric or gas powered. Neither have much effect on roads

TRUCKS cause by far the most wear and damage
