Evil corporations sit on $trillions while millions remain unemployed!

It's really odd that the radical left doesn't understand how bi-polar they have become. Everyone credits Obama for the stock market gaining about 100 points but the gain was the result of more corporate wealth but the left hates corporate wealth but they want to credit the president with economic recovery.

It's not corporate wealth. it's corporate "take over".

Beside, you're not rich. And what if the government stopped your disability? You couldn't even come on this board and applaud corporations. You would have to do that from a piano box. Cramped, but not without a certain "style".

So the rich don't pay taxes anyway so the solution is to give them MORE money?

If by 'give them MORE money,' you are suggesting, 'lowering their taxes,' then sure. Rich people -- despite all this jive about wanting to pay more -- do not enjoy paying more taxes, because they understand that they will have to spend extra money to avoid them. I guess this is the progressive way of 'sticking it to the rich' by making sure the rich have an extra tough time avoiding taxes.

They're not keeping their money here. Have you seen your financial account?

Oh my, someone doesn't understand how publicly-traded companies work...

Complex problems mean complex solutions. Simple knee jerk solutions that fail come from simple minded jerks.

What exactly are you 'complex' solutions? I really would like to know...

Why do you think they want a tax holiday to bring it back into the country? Remember the last time that happened under Bush? They didn't create jobs. They used the money to move more jobs to China.

First of all, corporations pay corporate taxes. Corporate Taxes has nothing to do with Marginal Income Tax holidays.

Secondly, moving jobs to China IS the tax holiday. The Chinese are vastly more business friendly than that of their American counterparts, as the CEO of Coca-Cola has stated.

Clearly, you don't understand "complex". I think it's past your bedtime.

I've already asked you to state your 'complex solutions. I'll wait, but not for long...

Fund science, tech and infrastructure

The goal should be for corporation to innovate and grow jobs, but also for the government to invest into infrastructure + R @ D. Anyone that wants a pure capitalist or socialist system doesn't know what they're talking about.

I think going after personal wealth=ok
Going after corporation=bad

As corporations use that money to hire people and expand. Maybe the democrats aren't totally wrong with raising taxes on people making more then 500k per year??? It isn't so good to expect people making less then 30k per year as we generally want them to increase their wealth to go from the lower to middle classes.

Don't corporations use the same services that we do?

They most likely pay more for those services than you do.

And they pay taxes you don't

Sure, and they write-off the cost.

What taxes related to income do corporations pay that 'you'-'I'-'we' don't?

Of which 100% is subsidized.

We've seen your interpretation of subsidies.

Don't you have some money to go spend?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subsidy

Wikipedia is the cyber-encyclopedia of flunkies.

But for shits and schoolyard giggles... let's go with it.

The most common definition of a subsidy refers to a payment made by the government to a producer.

In this context, name a subsidy as so granted to the oil and gas industries.

And if you would please, in the same context, name the subsidies that empowered you to amass $165 million.

You didn't build that!

Also, you're a retread.

Build what?

A retread?

Too many Republicans on this board feel they are on the side of millionaires because they too, are millionaires. Simply "millionaires without funds", but they are firmly convinced that one day, their ship will come in. So they are actually protecting what they imagine to be their future wealth. They call it "imagination". I know it to be "delusion".

In economics, a subsidy is any monetary contribution, grant, or aid. So by allowing taxpayers tax deductions to reduce their tax, isn't that a form of grant or aid?

History of U.S. Oil Subsidies Go Back Nearly a Century

Glad you asked. I retired 16 years ago and thus haven't collected a paycheck since that time. My financial existence is derived from my portfolio (trust) which is a Nevada corporation. As a corporation, the portfolio is allowed by law to deduct any expenses necessary to run such corporation. My homes, cars (26), jet share, and living expenses are all necessary to running the corporation.

You do realize that shipping companies pay higher tolls and per mileage federal and state fees don't you?

As Corp I pay much higher property taxes than you. I get taxed annually on my cleaning supplies, every chair, computer phone coffee maker etc that I have in my business and let's not forget workers' comp which is nothing but a tax that goes up every year even if you never had a claim

Every single permit, license etc I need is nothing but a tax

So maybe you should learn a little bit about running a business before you flap your gums.

And as I said before, no private business has an obligation to spend its money or to hire people.

I can tell that it really is bad for you when a shipping company (that makes it's money shipping goods) pays more transportation tax for the private use of the roadways and rail lines.
I mean why wouldn't they be required to pay more? They tear up the roads. They make good profit. And they really need decent roads and rail lines.

And I figure that you must be paying all those fees and taxes you complained about to run your company.
And I even know why you complain and yet still keep paying those fees and taxes and maybe even hiring someone.

It's because you are still making money. So how bad can it really be?

They pay more in gas and excise taxes already there is no need for additional fees.

That's it? You can afford it so why not pay it?

I own a business because quite frankly the thought of working for someone else makes me physically ill.

And I hire the exact amount of people I need to run my business. Just because I might be sitting on some cash is no reason to spend it buying shit I don't need or hiring extra people that will not increase my profit.

In order to argument against an illogical statement, it is best to nullify the premise, not further it.

As someone who has actually run a business (or two or three), the whole idea that there are tons of business owners out there "sitting on cash" is laughable. Except for Microsoft and Apple, I don't know any companies that experience a cash surplus. As a matter of fact, the one struggle most companies have is increasing their cash flow.

Not surprised you forgot all about me and my request to hear your 'complex solution.' Good thing I didn't allow you to waste my time.

A better title for this thread is:

Evil unaccountable politicians and government bureaucrats spend $Ts and kill job growth with oppressive regulations they don't read or understand.

Not surprised you forgot all about me and my request to hear your 'complex solution.' Good thing I didn't allow you to waste my time.
I'll give you my solutions:
  • close loopholes that allow corporations to off-shore their profits
  • provide tax incentives for corporations to manufacture products in the US
  • tariff the ones that don't
  • raise the tax on capital gains and stock dividends to 35%
That should take enough burden off the middle class for them to start buying again.
