Facebook announced Thursday that it has permanently banned a host of prominent figures it described as "dangerous" from its platform, including right-wing commentator and former Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

The platform said it has determined that those figures are "dangerous," and removed them under their policy barring individuals and groups that promote hateful and violent messages.

The tech giant, which has been engaged in an escalating crackdown on hate speech and fear-mongering on its platforms, also removed neo-Nazi Paul Nehlen, who previously ran for the House in Wisconsin, far-right activist Laura Loomer and conservative YouTuber Paul Joseph Watson.

2019 will go down as the year where it tuned on Fox News, AM talk radio, and the fringe of social media.

It will go down as the year the Left it would be fashionable to decide that the Free Speech of American's should be curtailed.

The First Amendment doesn't apply to Facebook. You fucking wingers are dumb as dirt.

LOL, what a dumbass. So you support blocking all speech you don't like. The 1st amendment applies to all speech son, just because you want to hide behind a platform that is privately owned doesn't change the fact that someone's rights aren't being respected.
The first does not apply to the private sector.
...unless, of course, it's a Christian baker asked to cater a gay wedding.

They pick and choose what will or will not be allowed and they think that that is a grand course of action.

I suppose. I ran my business for thirty five years and never once did I discriminate against a customer. I was in business to make money not have the world cater my biases and fears...

Yes sir.

And one should be allowed to lose all sorts of business by making the dumb fuck decision to discriminate against customers.

Stupidity is a right.

A few years back, Glenn Beck, and a cadre of the right wing clown machine met with Facebook executives to complain about conservative messaging being silenced. It worked for awhile. Donald Trump changed the whole landscape. In just the last few months, the MSM has finally started ending the both sides do it narrative, and are honing in on right wing propaganda. They can do it on their own dime, but they aren't entitled to free air time on the national media, and they sure as hell aren't entitled to spread their bullshit on private internet sites. What is happening now is a very good thing. The right is losing not only the messaging war, but is now losing more and more ground on medium in which to spread it.

In which one aspect I would develop is social media that is friendly to them and promote that base instead of complaining how they are getting beat by their own game.

In fact, they are. Look it up. Its right at the top of the Bill of Rights.

Now, if the Republicans were smart, they write a law and declare that Facebook, being as influential as it is, is an object of the National interest, thereby bringing them under the influence of the First Amendment.

I don't think they have that kind of backbone.
