It has nothing to do with welfare but a state of mind in the ghetto..
Just what is the "state of mind" in the ghetto?

wrong.chicago had an almost absolute, gun ban in the city
Parts of the city have gun control laws. Parts do not. Walk across the street and buy a gun.
But-
chicago is the third largest city in the us and yet their murder rate is 18.5 per 100k people - or 21st in the nation - so, even thought the 'control' laws are only for parts of the metropolitan area, they are actually quite effective.
In 1994, chicago had 928 murders. Last year, they had 440.
In point of fact, if one looks at the entire picture, chicago has made incredible progress because of their efforts to get guns out of the hands of the very people the nutters want to see armed.
I've posted the link to these facts several times but because facts don't support the nutters' agenda, its ignored. Well, get used to it because sanity is making progress.
you have also posted several times about the mass shootings. Of course, you included the domestic violence deaths into that total, which skews it a bit.
But we average 80 deaths from mass shootings by strangers every year. so in the us we average about 3.9 deaths per 1 million people. If 18.5 per 100k is good, then 3.9 per 1 million must be excellent? and yet you have based your argument for stricter gun controls and limiting magazine capacities on the 3.9 per million.
I guess the anti-gun nutters don't have to use the same logic?
Amanda Collins is a young rape survivor. While in college in 2007, she was raped 50 feet away from the campus police department office at the University of Nevada-Reno and was lucky to get out alive. Her attacker was James Biela, a serial rapist who raped two other women and murdered another. He attacked her at gun point in a gun free zone. At the time of the attack, Collins was in possession of a concealed weapons permit but was not in possession of her firearm due to university policies prohibiting carrying concealed weapons on campus. She was also a second degree blackbelt at the time and walked to the parking garage with a large group of people. Today, Collins did an interview with NRA News host Cam Edwards to tell her horrific story. She explained why Colorado Democratic Rep. Joe Salazar's comments about call boxes and rape whistles being sufficient self defense for women on campus will only result in more uncessary victims.
