Myth Socialism works spectacularly in Nordic countries.


The problem here is the equating socialist redistribution programs, with socialist economies. The Scandinavian nations are not socialist economies; Denmark has a freer economy than does the USA. Higher tax rates to support the redistributionist part, but far less business regulation than America.



“Speaking at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, Danish PM Lars Løkke Rasmussen told students that he had “absolutely no wish to interfere the presidential debate in the US” but nonetheless attempted to set the record straight about his country.



"I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy,” Rasmussen said.



“The Nordic model is an expanded welfare state which provides a high level of security for its citizens, but it is also a successful market economy with much freedom to pursue your dreams and live your life as you wish,” he added.

To recap: Capitalism makes countries wealthy…..socialism redistributes wealth, shutting down industry in the process.

Nordic countries have high levels of social services, but this is paid for by exorbitant tax rates. Denmark has a 60.3% tax rate, plus a 25% sales tax.

And….a 5.5% decline in GDP in the decade.

....which he says is evenly "redistributed" among Denmark`s population who don`t have a government job like he does. Aside from food, which is cheap in Denmark there isn`t much else you could do with the money you get in Denmark. Maybe that`s why 43 % of Danes have to live in social housing projects.

The thing is, you can find the honest truth on the internet if you aren't too lazy to find it if you actually want truth.

Haha, the usual defense, morphing one word into a different one. I said "taxes" and you changed it to "income tax" which is supposed to prove your strange version of the truth.
They pay "only" 55.8% income tax and have a 25% sales tax.
That comes to 80.8 % they pay in taxes. Unless you know a way to buy in what you need without paying sales tax, or pay the sales tax but no income tax your Omarosa version of true or false works only for Liberals.
