Gee wonder why theres so many Good boys got dead

Thats what she said. The question you should ask yourself is why on earth do you disbelieve her?

The scenario only has one side. They didnt interview the white people. If they did please point it out.

So you have ifs instead of facts? You must be severely deluded to think she was trying to back up her claims. She was giving an interview. She wasnt trying to get your approval. Its obvious what you think doesn't bother her in the slightest.

I'v explained my doubts about racism being the cause of a 3 year old's anger.

I've explained my doubts about discrimination being a big problem for a 23 year old self made millionaire.

The scenario has two sides. The interview only gave one side. I agree she doesn't give any effort to support her claims.

She is indeed only interested in talking to people she expects will take her word for it.

So she bad mouths "fat white Americans" and doesn't expect to be called on it.

Makes one wonder about what type of environment she grew up in.
I know you explained them. I can see you dont have the knowledge to make your opinion a viable fact.

Again what you think is not a fact. Its her experience not yours. As much as you want to make it a white experience its not. Its a Black one.

The scenario only has one side. She wasnt trying to support her claims. She didnt need to.

Bingo. She doesnt much care what white people think. I commend her for that.

You said "so" as if thats what she said. Thats usually the sign of a person that has weak debating tactics. Where did she say she doesnt expect to be called on it?

The environment she grew up in was one where she experienced racism. She explained that in the interview.

If blacks are claiming to experience discrimination from whites, then the white experience is part of the scenario.

She should want to support her claims. Because otherwise she is nothing but a selfish hate filled bigot, badmouthing the nation and the people that enabled her to become a self made millionaire at a very young age.

She showed that she does not expect to be called on it, by not doing anything to support her hateful claims.

The environment she grew up in was one where she experienced racism? Why should I believe her?

Such heavy discrimination that she became a self made millionaire by 23.

Sorry but the white experience doesnt matter. Its Blacks describing the discrimination. If you want the white side of the story go ask the white person. No one else really cares.

Thats not a valid reason for her to support her claims.

You assumed she didnt expect to be called on. Thanks for admitting that.

You dont have to believe her. I doubt that she finds your opinion important. She was just answering a question from the interviewer.

Exactly. Despite that discrimination she still made it. Inspiring story when you think about it.

By being here and joining discussions in a diverse forum you invite whites to join the discussion. If you want to exclude whites, than go find a black only discussion forum.

The white experience obviously matters. Whites are going to be the largest ethnic group in this country for the rest of your life. We are here, we are white and we are going to be in your life.

Unless you wall yourself off in some type of ghetto, rather real or virtual, you will be dealing with us and our opinions will effect your life whether you want it to or not.

This chick is a selfish racist a-hole who is bad mouthing the nation she is a citizen of and that gave her the opportunity to become a self made millionaire at a very young age.
Maybe your confused. She didnt post this on the forum someone else did. Why would she care about what white people think? What you think doesnt matter. What are you going to do?

The white experience doesnt matter to anyone but white people. No whites wont be in my life unless I allow it. I dont have to wall myself off. I just ignore you and do what I do.

Shes a racist ..pure and simple...just like any whitey who would proclaim they hate all blacks would be labelled
Sounds more like to me she is fed up and has written most whites off. How much you want to bet she has some white friends?
The only problem with this argument is that she is doing exactly what she blames white people of doing. Imagine if she was white and said it about blacks.

It would serve her better to be a role model to her race instead if inflaming both sides. But I realize she is trying to be revalent and said something that would get her press, so she can sell more of whatever she does, thereby promoting the idea to get money you have to be inflammatory and divide people to maintain her power.

I see it as vain and sad
We dont have to imagine. We know for a fact whites do the exact same thing. If that dynamic did not exist she wouldnt be the way she is today. Racism warps people. I dont buy into the "role model" or "credit to your race" paradigm. Whites want peaceful, easygoing Black people? Then its incumbent on them to stop their racism. White racism is the cause of this. Not the other way around.

What white racism?

The only "racism" she describes is how teachers would tell the kids to be quiet, and then punish those who were not. Who happened to be black.

That's not racism. That's being judged on your actions.
Go read the story again. Its obvious you read it "white" eyes.

Then it is never going to get better. Doing things poorly because you have been treated poorly never solved anything. Be the better man or woman. Take care of your neighborhoods help people better themselves. Don't sink to the level of hatred because you will not win. Nobody has ever won with that mentality.

All races have been slaves. Romans enslaved all of Europe. People got over it and bettered themselves. I mean I guess I could go to Italy and clame reparations for helping build the Roman Empire. But that would be silly.
Thats why she is writing whites off. They are incapable of addressing and fixing their racism. You are the first to admit this to me. Whites should take the advise you just gave me but tailor it to say "doing things poorly for no reason never solved anything" See how that works?

We did fix it!

No you didnt fix it. Thats why there is still a race problem.

Yes I do agree with you that there is a racial discord in the United states.

As far as miss banks goes, she can say what she wants, I think she is humorous, and I am not offended by it. Because I really don't care, it does not effect me whatsoever what she thinks. But I find it odd that you don't think she is trying to cause a stir just sell her wares. And to remain in the media.

What exactly is the fix for the racial discord? as a white person what can we do that would stop the flames? I will say that racism will always be a problem, you can't flip a switch and turn off ignorance. People believe what they want to believe, its a trick, a shadow on the wall( I know a game of thrones quote lol). But that goes to both sides of the line.

I have worked in the military with all races and we all get along fine, we all do our job and take care of each other and partied hard and police each other to make sure no one has an incident overseas and stateside when we are out partying ( I don't drink so I was the babysitter/dd at the clubs)The best cure for stress was laughter, to laugh at each other. We had a good times and we had some bad times but we were all in it together.

Is it just whites that need to change their perception? What is the fix? how do you mend fences and how long will this go on?
Theres a couple of things whites can do. The primary thing would simply stop being racist but I dont think that is possible for the majority of whites. I think there is a mental problem with many whites accepting the fact they are not superior and that prevents them from discarding racism. I think this is the result of fear. Only fear would produce such a negative primal reaction to the notion of equality.

I too was in the military and worked with many different races. i even had white friends. I noticed that if I outdid a white person in something it bothered the hell out of them far above just a regular disappointment at losing. This provided the basis for my opinion that whites need to do a lot of soul searching.

Yes I think its just whites that need to change their perception. Whites started this so its incumbent on them to stop it. When whites come in peace people of color respond in peace. Its not just Blacks that think like this. People of color the world over think like this about whites. Blacks are just way more vocal about it.

i'm new here. I asked you questions about this topic and you dismissed me.

YOu said my side doesn't matter. This woman says she hates white people, are you celebrate that.

I dont have any walls to walk through. I'm on the internet.

No the white experience only matters to whites. Thats why they lie about things in history while we laugh.

Thats correct. Blacks are pretty good at spotting racism We should be, having had to deal with it for centuries.

Racism?

I recall once in college. I was taking out the trash. There was a lot because we were a bunch of slobs living together.

I noted the neighbor, who I had never seen, had similar white bags of trash out, and came very close to our part of the sidewalk.

So, it seemed to me to be right to lump the two piles together so they made one ridiculously huge pile of trash.

The neighbor, who turned out to be black, was greatly offended by this.

He saw it as an attempt on my part to make him look like a slob.

I looked at him like he was crazy, stated that it did not occur to me that anyone would have a problem with what I did, and I promised not to do it again.

He assumed that I put the two piles of trash together in order to make him look bad.

If he had not spoke to me he would be out their convinced that I did it to make him look bad.

Since he did speak to me, I can only hope that my honest statement that if was not an attempt to make him look bad was believed.

Combined with me looking at him like he was a complete crazy person.

He didn't clearly state that he thought I was being racist.

As a black person, do YOU think he perceived that as racism?

BTW, can you see how in this example, that my side does matter? I can assure that I did NOT put the bags of garbage together as some form of racist attack.

It is insane to state that the reality of the event does not matter.

I should have been more specific. Your opinion that she needed to prove the racism is irrelevant. If you feel dismissed I dont know what to tell you other than get over yourself.

What gave you the idea I celebrated her hating whites if the first thing I said was she would settle down?

Your personal anecdote doesnt make sense. Why would you attempting to make him look like slob have anything to do with race?

The racism here isn't me. I don't hate black people. THis chick hates white people and you defend her as being right to do so.

My perception is just fine, thank you. I see you. I see her.
I didnt dismiss you. I said what white people thought about her experience was irrelevant.

Your side doesnt matter. I never said I celebrated it. I said she would calm down later having went through it myself.

The racism may not be specifically you. Its a disease of your fellow whites and some of your comments lead me to believe you may be the same.

Stating that my opinion was irrelevant is dismissing me.

Stating that my side doesn't matter is dismissing me.

You have certainly celebrated and defended and supported her racist hate filled words.

THat's the point. I was NOT trying to make him look like a slob.

I know that. That is the truth. NOte how the "white perspective" is important to this story?

Here's another one.

I was buying an ice tea. On a impulse I picked up a package of Rollos and tried to place them on the counter in front of the cashier girl.

Incredibly, I failed. I dropped the Rollos, which rolled toward the opposite edge of the counter, forcing the cashier girl to catch them.

Somewhat embarrassed by my inability to pick up a small object and put in back down a couple of inches away, I made a minor joke about "rolling a rollo to my friend".

To my shock, the older black gentle man behind me interpreted my dropping of the Rollos, and my comment as a racist slight upon the cashier girl who was black.

He bitched at me for a few moments. I looked at him in shock, like he was a crazy person. Which he was.

I paid for my ice tea and the rollos and left.

In this incident, my perspective is very important to understanding what really happened.

I was NOT trying to racistly insult or disrespect the black cashier girl.

The black guy in question, who saw my actions though his "black eyes" was completely mistaken about what was going on.

He saw racism were there was none.

Thus, I cannot accept your "black eyes" explanation is sufficient reason to give this 23 year old self made millionaire any credibility when she discusses a "lifetime of discrimination".

Again I dont get how thinking you were trying to make him look like a slob is a race issue?

Why would you say something so stupid and corny? Why didnt you just say "I apologize"? You do realize that comment may have had some sexual innuendo attached to it right? White people have this problem that they think everyone thinks like them. Wrong answer. If you going to say something witty and you are not well versed in Black vernacular or customs I would suggest you refrain. Youre lucky you didnt get your ass kicked like I would have done if I heard you say that to a Black woman.

No your perspective wasnt important. Your common sense and respect for others was way more of an issue.

Again no one is asking you to accept anything. Your acceptance is not important.

It was a dumb comment that would have gotten your ass beat if I had of heard you say that to a Black woman. I dont need to hear a white perspective you need to be careful about what you say. That very easily could have been construed as a sexual comment. Perhaps you need to understand that my comments don't mean what you assume they mean.

Perhaps your assumption that you have a right to tell me to be careful about what I say, or you will kick my ass means that you are the one that is not prepared to understand other people.

Perhaps I don't want to live in a land where my ass in in danger because some racist black person is going to attack me if they find some minor offense in what I do.

You ever been arrested for attacking some white guy for no reason?

If I said that I felt I had the right to beat any black man that didn't show the proper respect to a white woman, you would have no problem seeing that I was a racist bigot.

Sound familar?

You are demonstrating that exact mindset.

YOu sure that's the way you want to be?

Thats pretty dumb to assume someone is going to understand your meaning when it means something completely different to them. When dealing with whites I dont say certain things because I wouldnt want them to take it the wrong way. You should learn that type of respect or you are going to wind up a victim of a misunderstanding.

I do have a right to tell you. No one is going to stop me from doing so. You are free to disregard it but you have my permission to do so.

If you dont want to live in a land like that then move somewhere that you are safe and can say what you want without fear of facing the consequences.

No. I have never attacked a white guy for no reason. Its always and only been because of racism.

No I wouldnt see you as a racist bigot. I would actually believe you had some balls and willing to stand up for a woman.

No it doesnt sound familiar.

Yes I am sure I want to be that way. To me there is nothing more precious than a Black woman except for a Black child.

Stating that I was "rolling a rollo to my friend" was a "sexual comment" that was worthy of getting my ass kicked because I made it to a black girl?

YOu wonder why I want the "white perspective" to be considered and then you tell me that, based on your "black eyes" that you would have kicked my ass if you heard me say that?
It was a dumb comment that would have gotten your ass beat if I had of heard you say that to a Black woman. I dont need to hear a white perspective you need to be careful about what you say. That very easily could have been construed as a sexual comment. The fact you dont get it tells me you live in lala land and have no desire to understand that your witty remarks dont mean the same thing to other people. When I would want your white perspective I would ask you for it.

I was speaking plain English and quoting a common tv commercial, of the time. For some random black guy to use that as a justification to "kick my ass" is just that black guy being a violent asshole.

You have a right to talk to me. You do not have a right to "kick my ass".

No. I think I will stay right here. If you have a problem with me living my life the way I want to, I will deal with that, and you when the time comes.

ONly for racism? Considering that you see my "rolling a rollo to my friend" as justification for violence, I have no faith in your judgement.

THe logic I just describe was that of the classic lynching. Are you sure you support that?

You sure you want to emulate the violence of the lynch mobs of the old South?

BTW, how is that violence working out for the black community? Really moving you guys forward?

BTW Hispanics are the group that are really growing in this country, not whites, not blacks. You think they are going to walk on eggshells around you for the rest of your life?

Someday, you'll be old. And the young violent punks will be brown...

English isnt plain. it has many dialects. Black people speak a different dialect of english and your witty remark would have been construed as an insult without the benefit of me seeing your body language and tone.

Glad you agree I have a right to tell you i would have kicked your ass.

If you will stay right here then why did you bring up that you didnt want to live in a place that you had to show respect? Did you think that would make me feel guilty or something?

Yes only for racism. Your faith is none of my concern. You asked and I told you. Perhaps you shouldn't ask questions you dont like the answer to.

Violence against people that lack respect even after being told something is disrespectful is not a vice in my book.

Violence in the Black community has nothing to do with your issues.

Hispanics also feel the same. Thats why they show respect for others and have a problem with whites such as yourself.

Everyone gets old. You adapt.

You are responsible for deciding that an innocent comment is justification for you to commit violence. It is your choice to be a violent criminal.

I am giving you notice that you do not get to define this land. It is mine as much as it is yours. YOu do not get to define the rules as "rolling a rollo to my friend" as just cause for violence.

Just because you assume it to be "racism" does not mean that is the truth. The violence you cause in on you, not the alleged "racist" who you felt you had a right to assault.

Your book? LOL.

Agreed, violence in the black community has nothing to do with my issues. I'm not the one who is stating that he will attack people for no reason.

You sure you aren't open to the idea that you might be doing something wrong? I've known blacks who have died for no reason.

Oh, sorry, no reason "in my book".

No. I'm pretty sure Hispanics aren't going to give you a pass on attacking them for no reason. Some stupid whites might. Browns? NO.

And no, you don't adapt. If you want to turn this land into a violent hellhole, someday you'll be the victim. If you're lucky enough to get that old.

Some day you won't be up on the latest cultural nuance, and some asshole will decide that you didn't show someone enough respect and you'll get your ass kicked.
