George C. Wallace 1968...One Great American

My first 18 years of life were in Huntsville Alabama and our great Governor George was the man.........

God Bless Alabama!
Love Birmingham and loved living there, Wallace was still a racist dick at that point though. And that's why you like him and started the thread. He was Don's model for the campaign, rehashed bullshit, another step backward.
He was and is a great American. Civil unrest in 1960's damaged American pride and LBJ was not up to the task. Civil rights would have come...with or without baby boomer, defeatist, lost a war, crybabies.

Oppression damaged america hon. Making it visible is what got your knickers all atwist. Still does.
Oppression? What are you talking about suburbia Sean Penn liberal?
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn, oh joy, he's left with nothing but labels, how original.

1968 was a watershed year for America...and one man was a prophet to the downfall of our society by campus communist and Hollywood liberal revisionist historians.

You're not really telling history, you're bemoaning all the massive disadvantages white folks have. If you want to really talk about history then you've got to go back to Strom, Bilbo, Long, Rayburn, the list goes on.

I am telling real history...not Howard Zinn, Marxist, bullshit.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, how did that end up? Can't recall. Oh yeah, ... apologies from a wheel chair.

Well, I'm in a wheelchair but that's all I have in common with that grandstanding racist.

Great American.

If you are genuinely interested in politics and the campaign of 1968 and not just here to create a ruckus, read this book. One of the best descriptions of a tumultuous year that I've ever seen.

Historian White is another good one. Thank you. Btw...if you you want to read a good book about another controversial election year I would recommend Chance and his 1912 work.

After the 1960 book White was cookie cutter. This book is to the '68 election what "Dispatches" was to the Vietnam War.

He's just here to whine about living past his time frame in history.

I mean no disrespect when I say this, but you should perhaps consider informing yourself better before making your inflammatory posts. Doing so will be a better way to guard against people seeing right through the thin veneer of substance of your posts to the fact that you just want to make some noise. If you have a grounding in actual knowledge, you won't be so vulnerable to being seen as, frankly, an attention monger.

I don't see that happening with this rube. Were he to really look up to and admire Wallace, he would continue to grow as a human being as Wallace did. But he doesn't admire Wallace at all. He merely needs an object to attempt to justify his lookingbackward mindest and belief system.

I liked George. He could stop a bullet with the best of them, and live to tell about it.

Nah, I don't think he's that deep, either emotionally or intellectually. I think he just has a need to be noticed and accordingly posts stuff that is feeding the machine and is oblivious to how ignorant he appears. More white noise to me. Pun intended.

George Wallace was the man. We loved him in Alabama and he would of made a fine POTUS

More evidence that the alt-right is trying to turn the GOP into the pre-civil rights Democrat party.
No such thing as "alt-right." Just conservatives and campus communism like there has been for 4 decades now.
You idiots have been calling dissent "communism" for a century already. Why? Is that the only bad ideology you know? Can't find the reasons for dissent so the fall back position is to blame communists? Or is it lack of original thought?

Says the guy idolizing the Democrat party when it backed racism
Why is racism such a big issue for you? Or do you just recite it from your school lesson like a socialist Lords Prayer Mr. Sheeple? You are a total controlled dupe of the left. Tool.
"Why is racism such a big issue for you?" Apparently a trumpanzee cannot see the bad in racism.

Because it is a true statement and the left hates America.

Why do you always play the race card? How about people stop making excuses and your attitude determines your altitude in life?

The Left LOVES America. We just don't like your narrow interpretation of it.
