George C. Wallace 1968...One Great American

More evidence that the alt-right is trying to turn the GOP into the pre-civil rights Democrat party.
No such thing as "alt-right." Just conservatives and campus communism like there has been for 4 decades now.

Says the guy idolizing the Democrat party when it backed racism
Why is racism such a big issue for you? Or do you just recite it from your school lesson like a socialist Lords Prayer Mr. Sheeple? You are a total controlled dupe of the left. Tool.
Are you going to call yourself a Democrat now? Since you're idolizing them?
There is no Democratic Party now. Ended in 1992.

1968 was a watershed year for America...and one man was a prophet to the downfall of our society by campus communist and Hollywood liberal revisionist historians.

My first 18 years of life were in Huntsville Alabama and our great Governor George was the man.........

Love Birmingham and loved living there, Wallace was still a racist dick at that point though. And that's why you like him and started the thread. He was Don's model for the campaign, rehashed bullshit, another step backward.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, how did that end up? Can't recall. Oh yeah, ... apologies from a wheel chair.

Well, I'm in a wheelchair but that's all I have in common with that grandstanding racist.

Great American.

If you are genuinely interested in politics and the campaign of 1968 and not just here to create a ruckus, read this book. One of the best descriptions of a tumultuous year that I've ever seen.

Historian White is another good one. Thank you. Btw...if you you want to read a good book about another controversial election year I would recommend Chance and his 1912 work.

Wallace recanted much of his racism in later years. Not that I think trump is a racist. The clintons surely are, playing black folks like a fiddle for decades while doing nothing for them.

He was and is a great American. Civil unrest in 1960's damaged American pride and LBJ was not up to the task. Civil rights would have come...with or without baby boomer, defeatist, lost a war, crybabies.

Why did he recant his racism then? He asked black people for forgiveness.

Saw Gregg Allmam and Jimmy Hall at the old foundry, good times, yes sir. And City Stages Festival was a fave as well. Had a gig within the Gregory Flemming James Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Research Center at UAB. Thanks for asking.

You're not really telling history, you're bemoaning all the massive disadvantages white folks have. If you want to really talk about history then you've got to go back to Strom, Bilbo, Long, Rayburn, the list goes on.
