George Carlin on republicans

2000s

In 2001 Carlin was given a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 15th Annual American Comedy Awards. In December 2003 Representative Doug Ose (R-California) introduced a bill (H.R. 3687) to outlaw the broadcast of Carlin's "seven dirty words",[50] including "compound use (including hyphenated compounds) of such words and phrases with each other or with other words or phrases, and other grammatical forms of such words and phrases (including verb, adjective, gerund, participle, and infinitive forms)." (The bill omitted "tits", but included "asshole", which was not one of Carlin's original seven words.) The bill was referred to the House Judiciary Committee on the Constitution in January 2004, where it was tabled

stupid racist people often dont find things funny

Elaborate troll. Carlin hasn't been relevant in decades. When he was I prefered Eddie Murphy.

Second thought I think you should just shut your ignorant pie hole

Carlin was a funny man

You are just a stupid racist

Since you don't have the courage to take my challenge I'll do it for you.

I will start the thread and all you have to do is show up and post quotes of me being a racist.

10 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians ? Smashing Tops

1. George Carlin (1937-2008)

George Carlin was an extraordinary human being and also the best stand-up comedian who ever lived, at least in my opinion! We all miss him and regret his death. His shows exploded with dark humor, sarcasm and sparkling intelligence. How could you not love a guy who is not afraid to laugh about such heavy subjects as politics, social taboos or religion? There are many things to be said about Carlin, but what really matters is that he could make hundreds of people burst out laughing with a single phrase.

The fact that Bill Maher is seen as intelligent by anyone shows how low standards are on the Left.

It doesn't take much intelligence to grasp most of the obvious things Maher (is that the spelling?) points out.

Although he and I are roughly on the same page on many issues, I can't stand his delivery.

It's smarmy.

And as he lacks the intellectual HP to be condensending, I find his delivery especially annoying.

Maher problem is that he is supposed to be well informed (because his "job" is basically discussing current events in a humorous fashion) yet he's incredibly ignorant on so many things that you have to wonder what he's doing when he's not on the air. My guess would be smoking as much pot as possible and dating porn stars because it sure as heck isn't researching what it is he talks about. Of course when you normally surround yourself with other liberals who don't challenge what you say...why would you NEED to be intelligent? Bill Maher could state that the moon was made of blue cheese and half of his panel would be nodding their heads in agreement.

The real sad and pathetic fact is that you actually believe that someone achieving such iconic status as a comedian has anything even close to importance when it comes to politics. It is a real blow to the left when people like you use a comedian to justify your politics. It’s almost as funny as they are.

Let me give you a hint: the opinions of actors, comedians and their ilk are worth jack shit. The same way that a mechanic’s opinion on how to fly a plane is as worthless and a pilot’s opinion about how to fix a plane.

That is not their area of expertise. Now if you want to discuss something that was said by that person that is a different story. It is then a discussion on the merits of a statement BUT what you want to do is claim that something that falls out of a comedian’s mouth has merit simply because it falls out of his mouth. Carlin was a great comedian no doubt. One of the grates as a matter of fact but that does not mean that I am going to take political advice from a comedian.

So let's ask you this. Do you trust politicians?

If not, then why would you trust their opinions over someone who isn't trying to get elected for anything?

Nutters claiming to be more humorous than liberals is like the Cubs claiming to have a better franchise than the Yankees.

Funny people are usually intelligent. The odds are against nutters.

No, I don’t.

I don’t. They have motive to lie and cheat and that’s why I don’t trust them (not to mention the corrupting influence of power). I also dint trust them more than someone like Carlin. What’s your point? Carlin still has absolutely no weight in political matters.
