The CNT were syndicalists, which is in my belief an effective compromise between empowering workers and satiating the human ambition to accomplish and be rewarded.

The RIAU defended anarcho-communist communities (there was still floating capital in the region I am sure), and industry in that region did not collapse. The black army managed to stay completely funded despite being outgunned by the whites and the reds.

Anarcho-capitalist thought has always been around, but it never inspired much revolutionary fervor. There have been libertarian societies which were almost completely independent of market control, which is evidence that capitalist economics are also sustainable in anarchism.

Economics is rather irrelevant. What is most important is that human beings have their needs met and are living in healthy conditions. However that comes about does not matter, and economics will become more of a distraction overtime as money naturally becomes secondary in a free and self reliant society.
