Georgetown to give preferential status in admissions to descendants of slaves

You mean reward those that weren't slaves and have it funded by those that did't own them?

Yes and the funds would go towards those who live in the system created by slavery and funded by those who have benefitted from that system. Now you got it

My family wasn't in this country until 40 years AFTER slavery was abolished. Being white doesn't mean I owe them black bastards a damn thing. Now you got it.

So you still reap the benefits in this system

I reap the benefits because of hard work. Blacks wants the benefits because they're you're too damn lazy to earn it yourself.

You think so...but being white is an advantage in America. To say its not is once again just lying about it

You prove it. You want people that weren't slaves to be rewarded by people that didn't own them. You said so yourself.

I guess all I had to do on my resume was put "I'm white" and that would have automatically got me the job.

You want something for things that happened in the gottdam 16th century but blacks should get over what happened HERE in America up until the mid 1900's? LMAO...White people sure have some big ass nuts
Slavery in the 50s? LOL
The BST lasted until the 1830s
American slavery lasted until 1865

So you are pro one and against the other because America should pay for people who were slaves in other nations too to make up for THEIR slavery.

But America shouldnt offer anything for their own slavery because that wouldnt be fair. You're tying yourself into knots

Nobody should be paying anyone for anything. Why should I pay anyone jackshit? My family didn't arrive here until the latter part of the 19th century.
What are you guys going on about? Georgetown isn't expecting ANY OF YOU to pay tuition for these guys, is it?
To me the idea is kinda neat like the fact that I could join the D.A.R. I didn't fight in the Revolution (although TN suspects I did) but I'm "entitled" to join those dusty old hussies if I wish. There's no reason to ignore your ancestors history and accomplishments, and those folks who know their ancestors worked at Georgetown back then as slaves have as much right to the privilege and honor of that as any DAR member.
Nobody is trying to ignore anything. They are going to put people ahead of other people simply for the fact that their great great great grandparents might have been a slave... And like i said, there a thousands of white americans whos ancestors were slaves as well. You think that will cut it?
Nobody really gives a shit about slavery. if they did, we wouldn't have 30M slaves in the world right NOW
Georgetown admits it has always done this for alumni, though. It's not a public university so they can admit students anyway they wish. They didn't enslave white guys on the Barbary Coast, so why would they give those people a break?

this is not my America!
Georgetown is a private institution thus they can do whatever the hell they want, even if yo dont like it, moron.

They receive million in FEDERAL funding through grants.

Could a private business doing government construction contracts give preferential hiring treatment to whites and get away with it?
Did you read the link I posted? They give preference to descendants of alumni, and now they're going to extend that to the black slaves they owned in the 1830's, who also contributed to the university with their hard work. However, they sold them, so it's probably going to be close to impossible for most of those descendants to know who they are. A "part of the family" type thing. I think it's pretty cool.

So race shouldn't be used unless it gives blacks preferential treatment. If blacks are denied, you call it racism. If blacks are rewarded, it's perfectly OK to you racists.

Who was hurt by slavery? Was it whites or blacks?

Certainly not any black people alive today.

If your dead ancestor was hurt by some dead ancestors of white people, collect from those dead white ancestors.

GOOD LUCK!!

Who is the majority group in power America? And does the majority power holders in any situation have less than the minority with less power?

Let those that were slaves collect from those that owned them. In the simple mind of ClosedCaption, because I'm white, despite my family not being in the U.S. until after 1900, I owe black people something, many of whom may not have been descendants of slaves.

The system didnt die when you guys decided that blacks were finally humans.

As long as you blindly vote Democrat, you will be enslaved forever. Technically AND metaphorically.

Republican too.

The slave class includes everyone whose personhood is owned by the police state.

But only black folks keep bitching about it.

And, of course, bleeding heart weak kneed liberals. Black or white.

Being white incurs a social advantage in relations and business.

Being black incurs a social advantage with young white women and pandering liberals.

Women have the most social advantages at this point in time. Any other class of people do not even come close.

Since my family wasn't in this country until after 1900, they didn't decide either way.

Bitch about what? The existence of slavery?

You are also a slave, buddy. You have every right to bitch about it.

It's just another example of blacks expecting something they didn't earn

They call it positive discrimination...

Those that claim they want to be judged by the content of their character suddenly want to be judged by the color of their skin. That is, until doing so denies them. Then it's content of their character until they can benefit from skin color.
:eusa_wall:
It's not about their color in the case of the admissions policy at Georgetown. It's that their slave ancestors are being treated like "alum." They do the same for the children of the janitor, too, no doubt. It is for a specific group of people whose ancestors were "employees" so to speak. That's not discrimination in any way. You're just sore because they're black.

If it was an excuse you'd have an explanation. But you cant so you call names

They can do what they want, doesn't mean i have to agree with discrimination.
The BST was enslavement of Europeans. From what i have read, they had around 1K Americans enslaved. Of course, that is just an estimate. No way to know. But the Barbary Pirates raided coast lines and ships in England, Italy, Spain, Ireland Iceland etc..

How many descendants of former WHITE slaves will benefit?

Could a private university getting federal grant money have a policy where it gave preferential treatment to descendants of slave owners and you be OK with it?
