They once had better moral fiber.

An example is when FDR wanted to pack the courts to put a rubber stamp on his New Deal that SCOTUS had struck down. Democrats were appalled at the power grab, as FDR suffered his worst political down turn in his career. But today, Progressives champion packing the courts and are proud of their stance. No longer do they care anything about fairness or checks and balances, just abject, left wing power.

Human nature dictates that there is a need for an opposition party, something to fight against is a basic human need.

So IF the GOP were to go bye, bye, then I reckon the DNC would split and the chimps would start to eat themselves. But looking at those in the GOP like Romney, do they really need the name change? I don't think so.
