GOP tax proposals tilt to rich despite populist rhetoric

Governments have had police, invested in infrastructure and science since at least Ancient Greece. Athens, Greece spent a great deal of money building what we see today! ;) We could go further all the way to babylon and Ancient Egypt...Do you really think they didn't get taxes and use them to build what you see?

Loserterianism isn't a serious form of civilization and never will be...Also, moonglow is 100% right as socialism is a part of civilization and doesn't = marxist communism.

Yep,,,,

I wouldn't say pure socialism as that also doesn't work,,,but read up on the unions and break up of the monopolies in teh early part of the 20th century. This is what created our massive middle class. What we need is a regulated form of capitalism that we had between 1910-1970...

The ceo's need to pay their fucking taxes, the corporations need to grow some pride in this country and the market place better start allowing more competition. This happened in the early to mid 20th century!
Who owns the large corporations? Most of them are publicly traded, therefore your retirement funds, etc. are invested in them. It is the phony stock market and the "board of directors" who are to blame for employees not getting paid to lead a decent life.
There was this local company who laid of 120 people of their several thousand employees. Understood... business. Then, what a surprise!!! The board of directors, who were making $ 800,000 each voted a $ 400,000 each pay increase for themselves a few months later! I was pissed... they laid off people to pay more to themselves when they already made a fortune yearly... The CEO died a year later of cancer... how much did he take with him to the other side?
