An odd statement, in this context, given that the Democrats' primary objection to Mr. Gorsuch is that he believes in the Constitution, as written, and appears to intend to strictly uphold it, and that he supports American values, all of which makes him repugnant to Democrats who openly hold the Constitution and American values in utter contempt.

And, of course, you go on to quote Truman, who was part of the administration that did more than any other administration before or after to undermine and pervert the Constitution.

Once he opened the door, it is inevitable that the Republicans will simply push it all the way open and remove his obstructionism. Do not forget that the Republicans debated going nuclear years ago, but decided against it. Reid opened the door and made this situation inevitable.
