SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California's governor on Friday threatened a possible takeover of the troubled utility blamed for sparking deadly wildfires across the state with its outdated equipment unless it can emerge from bankruptcy ahead of next year's wildfire season with a plan focused on safety.

Gov. Gavin Newsom called all sides to a meeting early next week, saying he would personally try to mediate a solution involving Pacific Gas & Electric.

But if an agreement can't be reached, Newsom said, "then the state will prepare itself as backup for a scenario where we do that job for them."

PG & E has to fight to cut down trees more than 4 foot from power lines. Requests 15 foot either side for right of way and are sued.

Power lines get smacked by limbs in high winds that the Leftist wouldn't let them cut down. Then get sued by the leftist for starting fires.

Leftist pass a law requiring black outs in high wind events..........then when PG & E shut down the power they threaten to sue them to give to the people without power.

It is a tactic to GET WHAT THEY WANT................To SEIZE private assets that they have FUCKED without Vasoline for many years.............If I was PG & E getting their asses sued off for no matter what they do, I would divest financial assets..........declare backruptcy............Turn the dang power off to the whole damned State and walk the hell out.

There are publicly owned utilities all over the place. Even the privately owned ones are heavily regulated in every state for good reason, every one of them are monopolies. The government must force them to modernize and optimize as if they had business competition.

The issue here is that state regulators forced PG&E to do business a certain way...then when PG&E did business their way and shit happened the state got pissed that PG&E followed the imposed regulations and now the state is threatening to take their business for being compliant.
