This article details all the stupidity of France's gun control laws and how the three terrorists, one of whom was a convicted criminal on a government, terrorist watch list....

So, try to tell us that gun control works.....

The irony here is that the Paris attack occurred in a country with one of the strongest gun control restrictions in the world. You had people just 10 to 12 meters from the terrorists who were able to film them on their cell phones but they were unable to do anything to stop the attack. Yet, at the same time the laws hadn’t stopped the terrorists from being massively armed.

The four terrorists had body armor and radio communications. They were armed with numerous semi-automatic handguns, automatic Kalashnikov rifles, a loaded M42 rocket launcher, 10 Molotov cocktails, 10 smoke grenades, a hand grenade, and 15 sticks of dynamite.

In France, handguns (both pistols and revolvers), fully automatic firearms, and even semi-automatic “assault weapons” are prohibited with only extremely narrow exemptions. Loaded rocket launchers and grenades are also banned. Yet, despite bans and these terrorists having criminals records, these terrorists did possess all these weapons.

It is clear that the funding and weapons for the attack came from abroad.

Unfortunately, the French think that the solution is to station 10,000 troops in front of Jewish sitesacross the country. The problem is that there are so many possible targets, at times when the terrorists pick to attack, that there is no way that the troops can protect all the possible targets, even if they many times more than 10,000 troops. In addition, the terrorists can kill the uniformed troops before they start killing other people. It is an extremely difficult job for troops to be constantly vigilant day after day, week after week, month after month.

Over a period of 40 years 19 separate studies of gun self defense, conducted by both private and government researchers find that on average, guns are used by law abiding citizens to stop violent crime and save lives 1.6 million times a year.....

Because France and many other Europeans have a different culture than the United States, they have in their history peasants...who were not allowed any weapons, and the upper class who had the weapons, and that has been passed down through the generations....they are used to not being armed, and because all of their victims are unarmed there is no need for them to get as many guns...they can easily brutalize their victims with clubs, knives, and large, strong, aggressive men.....

Here are the crime data that the Times doesn’t want its readers to know: blacks committed 66 percent of all violent crimes in the first half of 2009 (though they were only 55 percent of all stops and only 23 percent of the city’s population).

Blacks committed 80 percent of all shootings in the first half of 2009.

Together, blacks and Hispanics committed 98 percent of all shootings. Blacks committed nearly 70 percent of all robberies. Whites, by contrast, committed 5 percent of all violent crimes in the first half of 2009, though they are 35 percent of the city’s population (and were 10 percent of all stops). They committed 1.8 percent of all shootings and less than 5 percent of all robberies.

The face of violent crime in New York, in other words, like in every other large American city, is almost exclusively black and brown. Any given violent crime is 13 times more likely to be committed by a black than by a white perpetrator—a fact that would have been useful to include in the Times’s lead, which stated that “Blacks and Latinos were nine times as likely as whites to be stopped.”

These crime data are not some artifact that the police devise out of their skewed racial mindset. They are what the victims of those crimes—the vast majority of whom are minority themselves—report to the police.

this is a problem of generations of teenage girls, raising children, who then as teenagers raise children, on government welfare with no influence by mature adults...the only role models for young males being gang members and drug dealers....added to an education system run by the education wing of the democrat party for the benefit of the union wing of the democrat party, and not the actual students....then add to that the fact that democrats under staff, under mine and under finance the police in those neighborhoods....as long as the rich white, democrat areas of the city are protected by police.....

The lower classes in Europe are used to being disarmed...Americans are not, we have far more interracial turmoil in our democrat controlled cities than Europe has, though with the import of angry muslims that is obviously changing......and by the way...gun crime in Europe is centered in those immigrant communities...so expect more of it....

Ummmm...not all muslims are brown.....are you a racist for assuming that? and looking at actual violent crime stats in the U.S.......most crime is committed by the poor, and by minorities trapped in democrat inner cities.....

I don't have to "get Smart" I am smart....and most of our crime happens in our large cities, in small, multi block areas that are mainly minority black or latino.....who have voted over 95% for democrats, and have suffered for it.....blacks are 12% of the population but over 40% of the violent crime....somewhere in there.....race has nothing to do with it....voting for a political party that doesn't care about you does.....

But unlimited gun access, of course, doesn't

Actually no.....look at Switzerland or Israel.....both countries have more guns per 100,000 people than we do and lower crime rates.....then look at countries with absolute gun control that have higher gun murder rates then we do.....
