Which is why most people even if armed would shelter in place and protect the people with him.
But then again you would criticize people for doing that too wouldn't you?

Do you agree that local law enforcement should be able to flag people like this in the national background system?

Absolutely! There were hundreds of clues as to this guy's instability and there should've been at least an annotation of this in the system.

He should have at least been brought in for a psych evaluation since there were multiple reports that he posed a danger to himself or others

It's called due process

I'm glad to know that. Any cracks in the system should be filled. Law enforcement may not have the tools to remove this kind of unstable person from the streets but they should certainly be able to prevent them from purchasing weapons.

You realize all of this is either common sense, conjectures or hypothetical. "This is essentially an extension of the “good guy with a gun” idea. As National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre put it following the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012, “The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun.” Basically, if more people are armed, they can stop violence before it gets worse or prevent it altogether.

There is no good research on the effect of arming teachers or the effect of putting more armed police or security in schools — which by itself should raise red flags, given that policy should be evidence-based. But based on the evidence we do have, there’s enough to suggest that putting more guns in schools could actually make gun violence worse

So you post a bunch of lying nonsense. No one is trying to take away the hunting rifles, they are not the preferred weapon of the crazies. Whenever reasonable laws are suggested to keep guns out of the hands of the crazies, you lying cocksucks come on with this nonsense. We have a particular type of weapon, a gun designed solely for killing as many people as possible as quickly as possible, that has been used in the last three major slaughters, and in many minor slaughters as well. A gun that no civilian has any need of. And your type of rabid defense of this idiocy will end up getting us gun control that even I won't like.

It is you and the NRA that is the most danger to my right to own the hunting guns that I do. For your idiocy in defending the manufactures profits in selling these guns that are designed solely for killing people will end up with restrictions on all guns.

Would seem there are so many problems not getting solved in the US. But should a problem not be solved because there are other problems that should be solved?

What a fucking argument, and in the US, it's a normal argument.

Need a wall to bang my head against.

This meme simply shows the illogic of the Left. Instead of facing what really matters, they do their best to destroy what keeps this country from becoming another socialist failure.

I disagree with what you say.

I'm no socialist, but trying to state that the deaths of thousands of people a year to guns is the only thing keeping the country from becoming Socialist is like asking having a conversation about nuclear physics with a 5 year old.

Society failed, and the NRA is a product of that failed society.

Are you paying attention? Or simply spouting from your prepared script?

You haven't said anything in your reply. You're merely coming out with arrogant nonsense.

Paying attention? Yes, I'm paying attention. And I'm seeing rather poor arguments right now. That's all it takes, is to pay a little attention, and you too could see just how shit they are.

Michigan Constitution

Every person has a right to keep and bear arms for the defense of himself and the state.

And the Supreme Court has already ruled that certain weapons can require a special license to possess. And that license can and should be extended to include the guns that have the capability of holding large capacity magazines and are semiautomatic.

And is there "good research" saying unarmed people have a better chance of surviving an assault by an armed criminal?

That had already been done.

And it could have been done again.

Or we could have made it impossible for him to have legally purchased guns in the first place. Mental illness isn't a crime. It's not up to law enforcement to manage his treatment.

Was he ever declared mentally ill?

I assume there would be a record of the proceedings

Don't care to.

You're the one who claimed he had been evaluated before this incident not me

`
Well, by all means, please post this "good research" you claim exists. I'd be interested in seeing it.
`

I asked you if it existed. But I guess you can't answer the question.

But the CDC did come to the conclusion that guns are an important deterrent
