I think it's past time to inject some common sense into the school's zero tolerance policy. In this case, the bullying is ignored, but the bullshit accusation that the kid twirled a pencil like a gun is causing yet another school to completely overreact. How many students have had their futures jeopardized because of illogical panic over this idiotic rule? I've lost count, but we can't let this continue.

Seventh-grader Ethan Chaplin has been home from school for two days now after getting in trouble in math class. He says he was just twisting around a pencil with a pen cap on it when a student behind him yelled, Hes making gun motions, send him to juvie.
Yep, thats it.
Ethan says the other student had bullied him earlier in the day, and was now trying to retaliate. But the school told Ethan he was suspended, pending the outcome of a psychological evaluation.
