Hailey Idaho cancels Bergdahl homecoming celebration

Sad. The excuse is the town cannot handle the crowds; the reason is the continued PR campaign.

HAILEY Idaho (Reuters) - The hometown of U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl has canceled a rally planned for later this month celebrating his release from five years of Taliban captivity, a municipal official told Reuters on Wednesday, amid allegations that he was a deserter.

Heather Dawson, the city administrator of Hailey, Idaho, said town officials called off the June 28 event at the request of organizers because the town "will be unable to safely manage the number of people expected."

The decision came as the small mountain community was coming under mounting pressure to cancel the rally amid rising anger over claims by some of Bergdahl's former Army comrades that he had deliberately abandoned his post in Afghanistan.

What a coincidence!

Three former members of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's platoon spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday about Bergdahl's disappearance, his freedom and how he should be treated now that he's out. The interviews were facilitated by a public relations firm, Capitol Media Partners, co-owned by Republican strategist Richard Grenell. All three men said Bergdahl should be investigated for desertion. Army Chief of Staff Gen. John McHugh said Tuesday that after Bergdahl has recovered, the Army will "review" the circumstances of his disappearance.

Talked to my cousin up there.

He says the real reason is the threats of far right reactionary violence.

The FBI and state police are now involved in the investigations of the threats.

So now you're convinced he's being swift boated ?

I'll go this far. He may have went AWOL, with the intention of returning, but was aprehended.
Or, he could have completely deserted, which is worse.
One way or another, based on statements from his fellow soldiers, the note he left, the fact that he left his rifle, tells me, he at the very least went AWOL, but more likely he deserted.
Either way, it's striking so much of the left is trying to cover for this guy.
Probably hoping to keep the focus on Bergdahl, and take the focus off the real crime here of the president not only illegally making this swap, but making a hugely lopsided one.
Obama looks like a gigantic dunce in this matter.

Swift boating is what is happening.

We can all wait for the investigation.

Former Bush Administration official, now a "media consultant" is leading the "truth" campaign:

Chase said the New York Times’ reference to them as “Republican strategists” was “100% factually inaccurate” because he himself is not a Republican. But a producer for The Michael Berry Show, a radio show that one of the soldiers spoke on, told BuzzFeed that Grenell was the point of contact for the bookings.
He declined to confirm which other interviews Capitol had arranged, but said the work for the soldiers was pro bono and added, “We’re just providing administrative help forwarding along emails” while the soldiers themselves decide which interviews to do.

The guy behind it is Richard Grenell. Fired from the Romney campaign, allegedly because he is gay. Truth is, he is as dirty as the swift boaters:

Grenell's involvement in cooridinating the statements of the three members of Bergdahl's unit is....news:

Grenell is perhaps best known for being George W. Bush ’s top spokesman at the United Nations, serving under Ambassadors Bolton, John Negroponte , John Danforth and Zalmay Khalilzad .
But he had a reputation as a polarizing figure among press who worked with him in the past, with some U.N. reporters describing Grenell as overbearing and untrustworthy.
After he was hired by Romney and drew scrutiny for some of his past comments about Callista Gingrich and Michelle Obama, among others, Grenell deleted over 800 tweets from his account and took down his personal website.
He was hired through the policy side of the campaign — not the political side, where a different level of vetting occurs.

Apparently shooting the agent of the messenger is the best Obama can come up with at the moment.

The HITMAN of the "messengers" is more appropriate.
