Have any US politicians proposed using a nuclear weapon since President Eisenhower?

No, of course not. ...Oh wait

State senator advocates use of nuclear weapons against militant group Arkansas News

"LITTLE ROCK —An Arkansas state senator posted comments to Facebook over the weekend advocating the use of nuclear weapons against the Sunni militant group in Iraq and Syria that calls itself the Islamic State.

Sen. Jason Rapert, R-Conway, said Sunday in a post on his “Jason Rapert for Arkansas Senate” Facebook page, “With ISIS spreading all over the Middle East and Africa and Islamic extremists carrying out violence in Europe, the United Kingdom and even in the United States, I wonder why the civilized world just sits by when we have weapons that could wipe out these barbarians where they are concentrated?’

Rapert continued, “I believe it is time to annihilate the strongholds and pursue the rest till we have them all captured or killed. A strategically placed nuclear weapon would save the lives of our soldiers and quickly turn things around. It is time for the insanity to be stopped.”"

And Iran's the threat? Not the US politicians calling for using nukes when they actually have nukes?
