Yes people, we needed Health Care Reform badly. Yesterday Health Management Associates hit the news (see link below); for those who don't watch 60-Minutes the name maybe unfamiliar, but it's apparent practices are not, I suspect, unique.

60 Minutes, Health Management Associates investigation: Allegations of quotas, fraud denied by boss

"Obamacare" is not Socialism, creeping or otherwise; if Republicans are able to repeal the ACA the fraud exposed in the 60-Minutes telecast will continue, Chargemaster will not be put to sleep and the risk of unnecessary hospital stays - for profit, not care - will increase.

Where are all the 'conservatives' who have been calling for less regualtions, more free markets and an end to "Socialism" (as if any of them really understood the meaning of the word).

I suppose this is a "gotcha" thread, kind of like asking Sarah Palin which newspapers she reads. All those 'conservatives' who want to repeal "Obamacare" have no idea why, and sadly, don't want to know. The willfully ignorant, callous conservative, are the bane of democracy.

Praise Jesus???

Wry, you do understand the history of HMA, yes?

Look up Columbia/HCA.

For profit also means stock holders.

Does CalPERS hold stock in HMA?

Please read the links. For profit by any means? Fraud, and admitting patients 65 and over - exposing them to hospital born infections - for profit and in doing so committing Medicare Fraud. Now the CEO is quiting to go to South America on a religious mission.

Those hospital infections that kill people is a great way for the government to reduce social security and medicare cost, doesn't it?

What a dumb comment. Read the links, the for profit hospital admitted patients over the age of 65 because they could earn greater profits by defrauding Medicare. Nearly 100,000 patients died last year a result of hospital born infections.
