Herring declared winner in Virginia AG race

should of, would of, could of ... that's all you got... the reality of things is they turned blue

The majority of votes for governor were not for the blue candiate, they were AGAINST the blue candidate, you keep forgetting that.

Not based on the exit polls
7% of vote liberal
3% conservative

for savis...

This destroys your argument.:doubt:

He won with 48% of the vote, The other 52% of the people voted for someone else.

Does everyone have a lack of understanding of raw numbers???

And if Sarvis hadn't been in the race, most of those folks would have stayed home rather than vote for a guy who wanted to stick the Wand of Shame(TM) up some lady's whoo-ha when she wanted to have an abortion.

But the real shame is that MacAullife, who is a pretty corrupt guy, got that far at all.

It shows how moribund and wedded to crazy the GOP has become.

Herring declares victory in AG race, recount possible - Richmond Times-Dispatch: Latest News

Herring released his statement after the tally of provisional votes in Fairfax County added a net gain of 57 votes for the Democrat, which would give him a lead of 163 votes out of 2.2 million cast.

If Herring prevails, come January Democrats will hold all five of Virginia's statewide offices -- two U.S. Senate seats, governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general -- for the first time since 1969

A recount is almost assured.

So the Dems swept the Governor, Lt Governor, and AG race. It seems that Virgina, the Swing State, has now gone BLUE!

You sound like the Football Coach at Halftime telling his players, "We're only down by 6 Touchdowns guys and that 60 yard Field Goal right at the end made it 45-3. We got 'em right where we want 'em.!!"

Gimme a break.

What the dumbasses fail to get is that if they lose Virginia, they've lost the country.

States that have voted consistantly for the Democrats in the last six elections total 242 Electoral votes.

States that voted for the Democrat 5 out of 6 times (IA, NH and NM) equal another 15 electoral votes.

So effectively, the Democrat starts the electoral hunt with 257 electoral votes... and he just needs 13 more.

Virginia has 13 electoral votes.

Which means they could win Florida, Ohio, Nevada, Colorado, Missouri, North Carolina- wouldn't matter. The states the Dems have a good lock on equal 270, enough to win.

Hey, Edgy, you do realize that you lost 2 of the three races outright and are probably going to lose the third one, right?

The original point of the thread was not about the races theselves, but about how this is ushering in a new Era of DEMOCRATS RULE VIRGINIA. My points about the closeness of the race, and the fact that McCauliffe's massive lead evaporated in the week leading up to the election (thanks obamacare!!!) are to refute that sentiment.

Add in the fact that if republicans get into the WH in 2016 and actually start trimming government, maybe a bunch of those federal burecratic carpetbaggers will go back to thier liberal untopias from whence they came, you know, like Detroit.

The states where dems have thier locks, with the exception of california continue to lose population every 10 years. The hope of a electoral lock is a fantasy, although now I see why progressives have stopped harping about going to a popular vote, or at least apportioning the EV's by congressional disctrict (with two for the statewide winner).

First, the Democrats won all three major races. They'd be in control of the legislature and the congressional delegation if it weren't for the gerrymandering.

You guys are losing on all fronts, and you are just getting crazier...

BARELY won 2 of the 3, and the 3rd is still up in the air.

And as for the gerrymandering, both parties do it.

Looks like you missed the boat here.

Democrats got more votes in 2012 for house elections than the Republicans.

Gerrymandering kept their majority.

And yeah both sides do it, but Republicans have, as they have everything else, really really abused it.

Like they do with everything else.

Yes, they do.

Only Republicans do it as a matter of survival, though.

Bullshit, and I notice, as usual, you ignored the rest of my points, because, as usual, you have no counter to them.

his counters would just piss you off ... then you'll lose it... go off the deep end like you always do ... start with a bunch of oh yeah's ... then lose it even more... you see, the reason is your points are right wing opinions ... that haven't any factual bases to them ... just a lot of innuendos and false accusations ... kind of like Darrel Issa's attacks ... he sure made a fool of himself yesterday ... kind of like you did

do you really believe that one party domination would be good for the country? I don't think its going to happen, but just trying to understand how you think.

Keep thinking that, you dime-store hack.

As for the word "facts", i dont think the word means what you think it means.

and run locally by democrats, its comical you keep trying to push detroits clusterfucks on conservatives.

Like they do with everything else.

It has more to do with the nature of by district voting than any gerrymandering.

Any votes over the number needed to elect a person are "wasted" and can lead to an overall lead that isnt represented by the district breakdown.

The only way to eliminate that is to make districts in such a way that any election is won by a razor thin margin, which is of course, impossible.

Most non-competative distrcits in the 80% win zone are held by democrats, which is why the numbers skew in thier favor.
