A graduate of a Kentucky high school said his diploma has been withheld after he went off script in his commencement speech, urging his classmates to find God.

Micah Price, who graduated Friday, May 24, from Campbell County High School, began his commencement speech by giving “the honor, the praise and the glory to my lord and savior Jesus Christ.”

He was allowed to thank God, Campbell County Schools Superintendent Shelli Wilson told WKRC. What Price said next, Wilson said, was not approved beforehand.

Never turn away from what is right, no matter with what you are threatened with. Stay strong.🙏

What if he had urged people to vote for Trump or Biden? Free speech should not allow one preach to a captive audience.

Free speech is free speech, idiot.

Free means FREE.
These are the same people who will tell you that he doesn’t have the right to make people listen to his religious views, but would say it’s perfectly fine for protesters to force others to “listen” to their views by blocking them in traffic for hours

No student in high school, or college should be denied their diploma for any reason.

That's any reason. That diploma was earned by way of meeting academic requirements. Their parents paid property taxes that supports the school they attended, or paid the tuition for college. It is an absolute right, paid for in both time and money. No school administration should have any say in the matter.

Whether its a student that states a religious belief or decree. Or a college student that protests Israeli government actions in Gaza.

They earned their diplomas. It doesnt matter if you agree with their religion or their politics, or no matter what they say, or how offensive you may find it.

Yup.

Both types you describe are WRONG.

Oh no! Someone that isn't retarded gave a speech. Scary to dems.

Actually no…the kid giving the speech is within his right to do so, because he’s not forcing anyone to stay for hours, anyone can get up and leave, go get a snack or use the restroom…he’s using his freedom of speech.

The rioters, on the other hand, were blocking the streets, forcing people to stay, and when they tried to turn to get around the rioters, the rioters would literally walk to intentionally get in front of the car.

The kid was within his rights, the rioters were not.

If he is in a position of giving a speech at graduation it means he has put in a lot of work.

With that being the case, let the student have their say. There should be no "approval" of their speech.

Give the kid his diploma.

But a display of Rainbow Kickballs at Target, that you have EVERY right to just walk past and ignore (10 seconds), triggers the RWI and says that this display of Rainbow Kickballs is being FORCED down their throat to accept Gayness and the Indoctrination that goes with this Rainbow Display of Kickballs.
