After watching a News briefing it became obvious that many of those News people should do a history check. NATO was created specifically as a defense mechanism to prevent Russia expansion, ward off Russian aggression in Europe and forbidding the revival of nationalist militarism in Europe. It is not an entity ran by the United States.

Why was NATO founded? - We are NATO

Well you are wrong, the United States is Nato, and without the United States there is no Nato! Not one nation in Nato, meets its 2% of GDP requirements other than the newest nations and the United States which enormously exceeds it, Germany, the wealthiest European nation in Nato, dedicates not even 1% of its GDP to Nato, and currently barely operates a military at all!

That's the whole thing about Nato though. It was created as you say but has been used as a tool of aggression by America ever since 49. The Soviet Union is no more.

Nato won't swear off bringing the Ukraine into the fold, even though Ukraine doesn't desire that.

America is using it's Nato allies as pawns, while it sits safely on the other side of an ocean.

And refuses to understand that America is not safe. No nation is safe if this isn't de-escalated quickly before Russia starts losing serious military assets.

Ukraine applied to begin a NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) in 2008. Plans for NATO membership were shelved by Putin's man Viktor Yanukovych following the 2010 presidential election in which he was announced president. He was removed from office in the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution which started after he suspended the signing of an association agreement with the European Union. The Ukrainians wanted be to be more like the rest of the Euro not communist thug ran Russia.

Per the cost to be in NATO each country pays a portion based on income.
All 30 Allies contribute to the NATO budget on an agreed cost-share formula based on Gross National Income, which represents a small percentage of each member’s defence budget. This is the principle of common funding, and demonstrates burden-sharing in action.

NATO was created to stop the USSR from spreading into Europe. They in turn created the Warsaw Pact.

Some of us are aware of how the US worked covertly to overthrow Ukraine's government between 2010 and 2014.
The Ukraine would be allowed a free ride by the US if money was any consideration. And in fact all Nato countries would be allowed a free ride by the US if they balked at paying.

Nato is a US tool of aggression that was initiated by the US for that sole purpose. Russia has a case based on that fact alone, but has a more rock solid case by merely comparing their rights to America's Iraq adventures. Not to mention Vietnam and some 35 to 40 other US led wars of aggression.

Those are a couple of Russia's talking points, but far from all.
