Chicago was ranked tenth. I lived in KC which is a very dangerous city according to this chart, lived in the hood and never came close to danger. KC was ranked fifth. Also ranked in the top 20 was Tulsa. So let's compare.

Chicago 2.696 million people

Tulsa 391,906 people.

Chicago is 7 times the size of Tulsa. So let us think how much murder would happen in Tulsa if it were the size of Chicago. If Tulsa was the size of Chicago it would be ranked number 1 with over 120 murders per 100,000. If Tulsa was the size of Detroit it would be ranked number 5. In both cases it would rank higher than Chicago . The murder rate in Tulsa is less than 3 people per 100,000 les than Philly with about 1/5th the population.

Tulsa is run by a republican. It is 62 percent white. If we play the per capita game, this is the homicide capital of America by a landslide. ‬

I agree. Just because a city has a Republican mayor doesn't make it a Republican city. All urban areas have been under the thumb of Democratic policies for a few generations now and we are seeing the results of it.

And there have been democratic run cities that have been under the thumb of republican polies for a few generations. I live in a state ruined by republican policies yet republicans want to pretend that republican policy at the state level or federal level doesn't affect cities.

We've had to double out police force here for that reason, across the highway the city zoned multiple apartment complexes in a small area some 30-40 years ago and it 's now low rent Ghetto Land, a hood rat theme park.
