House Un-American Activities Committee

No they weren't. He accused hundreds, ruined lives, had people blacklisted on nothing more than, guilty by accusation, guilty by suspicion:
Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, James Cagney, Katherine Hepburn, Lucille Ball? They accused Shirley Temple of being a communist sympathizer from the age of 10 for God sake...

Yes they were and he did none of those things.

He only accused specific people on a short list who were later proven traitors.

He had nothing to do wioth blacklisting

That was private individuals practicing an earlier version of cancel culture and he had nothing to do with it.

History tells a different story. He is not looked upon favorably for rabidly attacking innocent Americans. 10 year old Shirley Temple was not a communist. McCarthy was nuts.
He epitomized cancel culture. Your devotion to his round up is creepy. Commies act like that....

Mccarthy did not attack her and that IS hitoric fact.

One more time you do not get it.

he had nothing to do witht he hollywood blacklisting. He asked why do we toleate traitors in government positions..

History has given the unseemly practice it's own name. Here is the definition of:
McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations of subversion and treason, especially when related to communism and socialism.[1] The term originally referred to the controversial practices and policies of U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy, and has its origins in the period in the United States known as the Second Red Scare, lasting from the late 1940s through the 1950s.[2] It was characterized by heightened political repression and persecution of left-wing individuals, and a campaign spreading fear...

All of which is irrelevant.

The issue is about what he did and he did none of those things

Except "subversion and treason, especially when related to communism and socialism." would be criminal and should be prosecuted for the insurrection that it is!

Correct, if they were actually guilty of the offenses. Blanket accusations by the government are a different story. It is illegal for the government to attack innocent people on conjecture and someone's guesswork...

The government and Mccarthy specifically did not issue blanket accusations. Mccarthy issued SPECIFIC accusations which were later proven correct.

Blanket accusations.... That's why they call blanket accusations, McCarthyism...
Mccarthy did not issue blanket accusations and that is fact. it does not matter what someone calls something else.

He specifically accused people who were proven to be traitors and then asked why their treason was ignored,

Mccarthy and Mccarthism are two different things.

:uhoh3: That is like saying the Marquis de Sade and Sadism are two different things. One is the man the other is the noun named after them. It is representative of the person's behavior. Like the Heimlich Maneuver is named after the man that was responsible for the maneuver. I think you get the idea...

Admire McCarthy for his disdain for Communism. Not for his unconstitutional, life destroying tactics trying to eradicate it.

Mccarthy did not violate the constitution nor did he destroy any lives.

Yes it is like your example. The Marquis De Sade is not sadism. They are two different things.

Mccarthy never accused Shirley temple or anyone else in hollywood of communism he destroyed no lives . You cannot name any such person he smeared, His efforts were spot on. Perhaps yuou could explain why trhe elite powers that be ignored the fact that we had traitors in government which is what he was fighting against.
